I am not a fan of any plan to move Derrick Brown.  He is the reason our defense was solid, and he is young.  Give him a long term extension.

He is the defense.  Extend Brown and build around him.  Extend Luvu the moment Brown signs his extension.  Do not let either of those two leave the building without an extension.

I hear you but I would see what his market value is draft capital wise.  We are a ways off from competing IMO.  And we are real far off if Young is a total bust

Corbett might be done, or at least never the same.  However, with the focus on WR, we may have few options.

Rework Moton's deal and trade him.  That would save nearly 30m.  Our best OL, he is 30 and likely will be over the hill when this team is ready to compete for a title.

If you can get good value for Moton I agree trade him, if not I'd like to see Icky slide in to LG freeing up BC to play LT. Roll with Boze and Corbett another year, draft and develop a future RT. BC coming back opens up a lot of options, I'd like to see us aggressively pull another very strong guard in FA however

I get that but Brown is more of a leader than Burns could ever dream to be. He is worth more on the open market I agree. He an Luvu are the only players on defense I would extend. Everyone else is on notice.

The offense? Lord help us.

I would trade Theilen, Jackson, Moton, Burns without thinking twice

If I could get a first and something else for brown I would do that in a heartbeat.  We are in complete rebuild mode IMO.  For once lets do this right

Agree on everything but DB I could not disagree more. He is going to be a much needed part of our defense and will bring heart and leadership to a locker room that has quite a few players that are just here cashing checks.

Moving Thielen might be a no brainer, Jackson as well.  Brown needs to be extended, Luvu resigned. Moton we have to do something with that cap hit, either come down off of it or time to pack for your next destination.  I'm not moving Corbett unless we can actually replace him. He may not be the same or he's the next Panther that flourishes in a new destination.  NO VOID YEARS. Depending on the outcome with Hursts concussion stuff can probably negotiate a pay cut.  Especially if he's going to miss significant time this season.  Other than that I'm not tacking on void years or restructuring people who aren't legitimately in our future plans.

You can't ditch Moton, in any scenario.  The restructure we did with him killed it.  We still owe the guy 24 million guaranteed, plus his salary.

If we do anything (cut or trade) with him before June 1, it's a 24 million hit to our cap this year.  Do anything after June 1 and it's 12 this year and 12 next.

It's just not a good move.

I’m not tryna be a dick but why the fug would we be focused on pushing the cap down the line. We have been doing for this for years, it’s what’s gotten us into this mess. This whole time we should just actually been rebuilding, you can’t half ass a rebuild. We are gonna to most likely suck next year regardless of adding a few pieces. Eat the cap now, resign our blue chip guys, and fill out and rebuild the roster through the draft.

There is absolutely NO reason to be tacking void years onto contracts at the moment. We have plenty of cap space to navigate and our team is obviously not going to be a contender in the next 2 years. Why would we cap strap ourselves in the future when the team may actually have an opportunity to compete.

We should be front loading new contracts right now, and aiming for putting together a competitive team in 2 to 3 years, not the opposite. Trade away players that are aging, and less likely to contribute to our future.

We can also roll over $6-7 mil from this season.

Only 4.8 mil in dead cap (this is huge that we're finally out of dead cap hell)

Est. space will be around 40 mil, some of these moves should get us north of $50 mil easily.

Whoever the new crew is, they'll have plenty of room to work with on building what they want.  We had that luxury in 2011 for Rivera's first season, but Hurney was still in the building.

We are primed for a complete build from the ground up for the first time in forever.

They named $70million in moves and you think we're only going to net $10m? Oh boy.
