Things often aren't that complicated.  People pretend things are overly complicated often though. 

Panthers have been pretty easy to figure out the last several years.  What went wrong and frankly what is going wrong in real time.   

 

Hindsight is always 20/20, sure, but keeping Fitterer was definitely a mistake.  At the time I was willing to give him a chance and that was the incorrect move.

I think some of us thought his FA acquisitions maybe were good and that his wheeling and dealing was exciting, and that there was a chance that people like TMJ would pan out.

Sure, but how about you start off by pointing out where I called him a great one?

Pretty much every time I've been asked to give him a grade, it's been incomplete. Frankly, it still is. Early on that was because of Rhule, but even with Rhule gone you still had Tepper. 

There are definite positives (the building of arguably the best offensive line we've had) and also absolute negatives (the collaborative approach to personnel) but ultimately none of that is what sank him.

And yes, things actually are that complicated, but sometimes people who don't have enough understanding want to make them seem simple to fit their narrative.

Could be - could not be. It does seem the direction Tepper wants to go, for better or worse. We'll see.

Say whatever you want about Howie Roseman but he's always got those Eagles playing with talent and winning games.  Yeah maybe he uses underhanded tactics but I just think maybe that is what we need with an owner like Tepper, so if Halaby follows in his footsteps then by all means.  I mean I get why someone would be against that, I understand.  I just want to win, really.  So I don't care how it gets done.  It just needs to get done.

From what I've read, the Eagles under Roseman are basically the Eagles under Lurie.

Where I think Roseman's greatest strength has been is in hiring good coaches...minus the Chip Kelly thing which was probably more Lurie. Hell, Kelly damn near managed to force Roseman out.

Yeah, I want to win too. A big part of that would be getting the right coaches in...and actually keeping them.

That's where the Eagles culture fails.

More than one Panthers analyst has suggested that personnel is our biggest weakness, and yet we're ignoring established personnel people like Mike Borgonzi and Ray Agnew in favor of analytics guys.

My theory on that is it's because Tepper understands and believes in analytics whereas actual personnel evaluation is way over his head.

So ultimately It sounds like we're going to hire the person that David Tepper wants over the kind of guy we actually need

Tabor would also be a possibility but He seems at least somewhat comfortable staying aboard.

Yeah. Her “Yes.” followed by the information she gave was greatly useless. 
 

I do understand the hesitation from staff members though. Never know what’s going to happen in the coming weeks, could be out of a chance for a job if the new HC doesn’t keep you on. But with this many openings, Evero would find a new landing place quickly.

my guy  just said Scott Fitterer built the best OL we ever had….and in the same breathe is attempting to lecture that folks aren’t smart enough to understand.  Best OL we ever had…..
