That might be Morris these days.

Morris seems like 1 of the 2 Rooney Rule interviews. It looks like they will need another unless one of the other 8 candidates is biracial like Mike McDaniel.

I don't think Evero or TB would count since they are internal candidates (if they even get interviews).

Reminder: Today (Wednesday, January 10th) is the first day the Panthers can have virtual interviews with candidates employed by other clubs but are NOT participating in Wild Card weekend.

That means we might hear about virtual interviews for:

• Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan
• Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald
• Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken

The other 6 candidates cannot have virtual interviews until Tuesday of next week.

• Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson
• Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik
• Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn
• Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith
• Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris
• Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales

Also, the team can interview internal candidates and candidates not employed by an NFL club (Harbaugh and Vrabel) at any time.

I keep seeing these numbers gurus with little scouting experience on these GM lists. Absolutely do not want someone with that background. If it isn’t someone with a wealth of successful talent evaluation(pro and college), hard pass.

Who cares about cap tricks if you are using them to retain Ian Thomas or draft TMJ?

We don't currently have a GM, so who is conducting said interviews? Nicole?

If their name isn't Harbaugh or Belichick, then we need to hire someone who hasn't been a HC. 

I hated the Frank Reich hire because the idea of hiring someone who was fired mid-season the year before is ridiculous. 

Belichick wouldn't win here, but my hope is he could knock some sense into Tepper and get him out of the FO decisions.

Vrabel is a better candidate than Belicheck at this point.

Maybe that outside firm?

Edit: I would imagine the Tepper's and Morgan are in some stage of interviews, probably this initial one.

Yup. Vrabel has proven he can coach. You still have to have talent at the end of the day and outside of the Panthers, the Titans have whiffed badly in recent years. I don’t think Tepper would call because Vrabel would beat his ass the second he tried to tell him how to do something football related.

I snooped around what I could find on some of these guys finally and gotta say, McDonald gives me the best feeling about being a HC.  

I know we need to build an offense but he just seems like a guy who's got long term, successful coach written all over him.  

What he did with that defense this year was all-time modern era special (getting the defensive triple crown).  Madubuike was absolutely dominant this year.  He was a guy I really liked in his draft but had a slow burn.  Showed flashes last year and became a top DL in 2023. 

Also, check out any interview of him, the guy just has a solid way about him.  Doesn't seem a BSer, straight to the point, but has a very positive, energetic presence.  I see why John Harbaugh likes him, similar in a few ways.

I’m fairly certain Vrabel to NE is already a done deal. You don’t let a guy like Belichick leave without a solid plan behind him. And a guy like Vrabel will have options. I’d like the Panthers to interview him (maybe you end up with Vrabel and Arthur Smith getting the band back together somewhere) but I don’t see it happening on the Panthers. My wildcard is Vrabel going to the Chargers.

Vrabel has had a losing record the past 2 years.
