Not sure I can blame Hurney on this one. They tried to sign him a number of times. Peppers is going to find out NO ONE is going to want to pay those big dollars that he wants.

We will survive. I think the FO has done well in preparing for his departure. It may not be flashy but I feel our DE will fill the void and do well.

That doesn't fly. They had two opportunities to trade him to get compensation and blew it both times. They could have traded him back after the '07 season when he still had a year left on his contract or they could have traded him for slightly less than what they were looking for last offseason, but Hurney stubbornly held out for two first-rounders. He did the same thing when the Rams offered a second-rouner for Kris Jenkins the offseason before we dealt him because Hurney wanted a first-rounder. We then had to settle for a third and a fifth I believe. It'll be even worse and more embarrassing because we're not getting a damn thing for him this time.

A damn chimp could make better personnel decisions.

It's not over yet. If this is official, he still hasnt signed with anyone else so far and could come back with us for cheaper if no one wants to sign him for 20+ mil.

He wouldn't go through all this if he had the slightest bit of inkling towards playing here next year. He'd rather take less money to go elsewhere.
