Thus shalt thou victories be; and the number of thy victories shall be this number, and greater than this shall thy victories not be, nor shall thy victories be the lesser of this number, of which this number is three, and three is the number of thy victories. If the number of victories that thou achieves is neither three nor a sum of numbers that sum to three, then I shall be very displeased, and sorely angered, probably by times three.

And the Fox shall say to the Smith, he who forges the lightning, "Thus, go up to the city of Lom Bardi, that glistening city, and take of them the trophy that is ours by right. If you should meet a man whose speech thou dost not understand, though it seems much like thy own, behold, it is the prophet Delhomme. Ask him for a sign, and he shall show thee the wonder of the arm that was dead, yet now lives."

And the smith shall say to the fox, "What of this city, and of its mighty men of war? How shall we defend the attack that surely must come, when their wrath is kindled at the loss of their idol?" And the fox shall reply, "Thus shalt be our defense; their eyes will water in the pursuit of you, as pepper will rain from the sky, and a terrible dragon, the Beast, will arise and give chase to them. In every manner they turn they shall be met by a wall, and a hand against their forehead, casting them to the ground. And though the defense shall bend, it shall not break."
