What do you guys think

First, I realize it is Mel Kiper I am talking about here, but in his last ranking at QB, he expects Sam Bradford to be the 6th QB drafted this year. I realize most people on this forum are sold and excited for Matt, but I am just not as sold yet. We only saw a few games from him and he is still unproven as a starter. The only reason Bradford would fall that far down the draft is because of injury issues... otherwise he would be an absolute steal at the position in the second round.

So my question is, even with our huge need at WR (Which can still be filled in FA) should we take Bradford if he falls that far down the board? I would be all for it. There is no question that he would have better arm strength than Matt and also more upside. We saw Moore win games last season, but I think many of us are forgetting some of his lucky passes, dropped INTs, and how much pure game management he displayed. I got a lot of bad rep for saying that I didnt believe he is our future just yet at the end of the year, but I still have my doubts. I know a QB is always a gamble, but if it wasnt for injuries, Sam Bradford would be a top 3 QB in this years draft. If he falls, wouldnt we have to take him? I would be all for it. You never know what kind of a gem he COULD turn out to be. And if he turns out to be a bust, at least we gambled on a potential top 10 pick in the second round. I doubt he falls to us, but would you guys be up for taking him over other areas of need in the draft this year?

Also, please be realistic. Everyone was quick to remind me that Tom Brady was once a late round pick... Matt Moore is not EVER going to be a Tom Brady. Lets be honest... we a biased fans on this forum. Remember Derek Anderson had a probowl year with 33 TDs... look at him now. And we never saw probowl and 33 TDs from Moore. I could see Moore turning out to be like a Chad Pennington. He can manage games and help you win, but dont expect him to put a team on his shoulders. I know we need a QB to believe in, but lets be honest. Moore had some really lucky completions last season and also had at least 3 INTs flat out dropped last year. I am just not sold. Please be objective with your responses. Thanks

I mostly hate this years QB crop. Roboshoulder, whatever overhype that ND is churning out, that TE from Florida, the noodle arm who sat out his championship game with a stinger, bleh.

Ride Moore for a year, if he fails look at next years batch. WR is a bigger need than QB is anyhow. We've got an aging Smith, an old Moose and nothing.

Pretty sure Bradford is the first QB taken anyways, MAYBE second. Highly doubt he falls out of the first round.

    • A Quarterback in this mold is and was always going to take a long time to develop. I think he still has quite a bit to go.  We didn't draft him for his foot speed or arm talent. We drafted him to be the leader and commander of the offensive unit. and he is growing in that capacity on a weekly basis. Being smart and being able to make the correct adjustment and get your team into the right play and being able to get the ball to the right spot is the most important thing an NFL quarterback can do. You can scheme around it, you can simplify, you can try everything, but those skills make a dominant NFL quarterback more than anything else. More than anything else, that's what the Montana's, Brady's, and Manning's do. And those are the ones you want. What we are seeing with Mahomes is a guy that has the brains, unique arm talent, and above average foot speed. He may go down as the greatest. I don't see that in Bryce's future.  He's got a long way to go, but he's showing he's capable of being that game managing, offense controlling guy. While that type of quarterback is the most dominant, it also takes the longest to get them game ready, and if they don't ever get to a dominant level, they often don't pan out. So it is a risk.
    • This is fake news as Trump would say. Nobody’s comparing seasons the nfl pundits ESPN first take si.com and other outlets are stating what we’re saying in this thread it looks like he’s regressing. Now to address your statement their leading their division ummm have you seen their defensive rankings compared to ours. You’re cherry picking which you can’t do with me I’m not a poster who’s here to argue I like thoughtful in depth convos. They have the 4th ranked defense put that in Carolina don’t you think we’d probably lead our division this year realistically. With the offense you’ve seen the last four weeks being average let’s just say with a 4th ranked defense how’d do you think we’d look or how many more wins would we have? You can’t say oh but they still lead their division knock it off it’s bc they have a terrible division and an elite defense. CJ is dealing with issues Bryce dealt with bad Oline and he has weapons but they’ve missed time and when out he’s looked below average having multiple 2pick games, the man’s had a 4 sack game followed by a 8 I repeat 8 sack game that’s a bad Oline leaving him to regress so Panther Bryce fans can’t pipe down we’re just stating facts bc yes they’re winning with a elite defense give a little more context to your statements it Matters!
