Chargers release Ladanian Tomlinson

This wuold be a really unpopular move amongst fans but I fully agree. We shuold sign LT right now to give us another quality #2 back, make Stew the starter, and trade DWill for multiple first rounders.

This team isn't going anywhere next year and there could be a change in the coaching staff the year after that. Might as well start to rebuild at WR and QB.

I don't know if any FO says "we're not going to succeed so let's make wacky trades". I'd be ok with the trade but not because all is lost this season.

L.T. now aims for a championship

Posted by Mike Florio on February 22, 2010 9:16 PM ET

With his long-expected release finally coming on Monday, Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson is now focused on his next move.

"It was a longtime coming, but I knew it was coming," Tomlinson told Jim Trotter of SI.com. "Now that it's official I can kind of look to the next step in my career and playing football for someone else."

Though he named no teams, Tomlinson said that his primary goal "is to try to win a championship."

"That's my No. 1 goal," he said. "That's why I still work hard and train like I do, because I still believe there's a chance of winning a championship. I can think of a few teams off the top of my head, but that's what my agent is for."

The only factor Tomlinson articulated is the presence of a "proven quarterback."

Trotter points to the Eagles and Patriots as teams that could use help at the position. After a playoff loss in January 2007, Tomlinson teed off on the Pats and coach Bill Belichick, but Tomlinson has since explained that he and Belichick mended fences. Or bridges. Or whatever the hell the cliche is

If DWill is traded I won't watch a single Panther game and will stop buying merchandise until the entire front office is fired, coaching staff included.

I'm fine with Peppers leaving(I mean I want him to stay but I can at least understand them letting him walk due to money.) but if DWill is traded.. I don't even want to think about it.

Peppers and LT move over to the Patriots...this will be nice. All they need is to convince Moss to stay.

Everyone who 'needs' to win a championship wants to play with an established QB. Even if it means playing for less money. I still can't understand the Panthers neglectful attitude towards QB.
