Nothing wrong with the trade really, they just picked the wrong QB. If they had picked Stroud and he played like he has been Chicago wouldn't be getting the no.1 pick and we wouldn't care about what we gave up.

Really, 3 first round picks?  Stroud is having a really good season, but the League will have tape on him next year so ther's no guarantee he continues on the same trajectory.  You don't make that trade unless an Andrew Luck is sitting there. None, I repeat NONE of the QBs in this past class were considered sure things/generational types.

Yes, the trade was 100% HORRIBLE!

How was it 3 first round picks? They swapped 1st round picks and gave them a 1st in the next draft. If you class DJ Moore as worth a 1st it's still only two 1st rounders. I stand by my point that the majority of people wouldn't care about the trade if Stroud was here and had thrown for 4000yds and 21 TDs.

Reich was just as much a problem. His coaching was terrible. Even with Sunday, the team almost winning two in a row is better than anything Frank did.

Also, what kind of balls does he have to not convince Tepper that Stroud is the guy? If you know Young cannot win, you convince the rest of the staff. Every article and interview from February to right after the draft had the staff on Young. It wasn’t until the preseason poo went straight into regular season that the CYA started.

I am of the opinion that no HC would be successful in the current environment. The Panthers are owned by a meddling owner who does not let his football people make decisions without him being involved.

4 first round picks down the crapper. Didn’t go through with the Burns trade and now this. 4. We could have rolled more or less intact, sans Burns, from last season’s team and have had a decently reliable offense. But we would still be picking in the top 10, probably, and have the future picks from the rams.

We could have had a Hubbard Foreman 1-2 punch, DJ Moore and pick up Thielen. Small moves, recognizing what was working for us. The o line finished the season strong.

It was falling in to place. Fans were back. Keep pounding was back. But this insecure drink throwing egomaniac despised it.

He needed Dave ball, not Jerry ball. He wants the credit and notoriety. ‘Team’ is irrelevant to him. That’s why he’s so quick to blow it up and only hire people that will defer to his manipulation. He’s not mad over losing. He’s mad because he knows he looks like a complete idiot and the only solution he’s ever known, money, isn’t working… and if anything else, it’s only getting worse. He wants Dave to win first, Panthers to win second.

He now knows that more money won’t fix this.  Well dang. That’s his biggest tool. I think he’s now seeing that his picks and style of play not only lose, but is the biggest laughing stock in professional sports.

He bought the team for profit and notoriety. Hiring football minds to run the show completely takes the shine off of him. I honestly think he would rather cut bait than to ever let that happen.

I would pay money to see how the conversations went with him and Wilks after another W playing Wilks ball.

Selling the team, he can then advertise it as another Dave victory with the $ he’ll make.

Master class General management. Imma tell you this... i RARELY wish i was in the shoes of another fanbase but the bears have me feeing that way lately. Also considering i always liked fields and then we traded one of my favorite players to them. Having 2 number one picks back to back years they are making moves we should have been making the last couple years.

The Jets may bench Wilson this week, a HEALTHY benching.  Just a cautionary tale about the fallacy of franchise savior being a top 5 pick.

Of the 4 choices in the first round, I guess I'm in the Stroud camp...reluctantly.  Tua is like on steroids compared to Young and Tua stays beat up.  Levis just doesn't have what it takes and Richardson is either a bust or a minimum of a 3-year project.

This is how much this QB class dried up.  It's a far-out snapshot of the 2024 class.  All but Caleb Williams was initially projected to declare this year.  Add Williams and *argh* Drake Maye to that equation and the situation looks a heck of a lot better a year from now.

But we have to settle for either Levis and/or Richardson?

The VERY reason you DON'T draft the QB until you have some pieces around him...and that a competent HC with a retread QB can work.  One game, two points proven.

*FYI, I'm not against a rookie QB, but it ain't the time.*

I know you guys are tired of the "wait one more year", but I really mean it.  Get our TE1, WR1/2, MLB, DE (Burns bookend) and hopefully couple other complimentary parts...we are there.  Then if you want to sell the farm for a rookie QB in the 2024 draft, then so be it. Plus, we are not moving all the way up for Stroud.  It's Levis or Richardson and I'm not thrilled with either of those options.

There's no such thing as a perfect roster, but there is such thing as perfect timing though.  There's too much turmoil, change and upheaval for a rookie QB to function correctly here next year.  Let the 2023 staff go through their growing pains, lessons learned and understanding of *THEIR roster before trying to bring in the franchise QB.  Again this isn't 2011 where we had the #1 overall and we got to get the pick of the litter.  We are talking about QB3/4 here in what turned out to be a dud of a draft for QBs due to NIL and the transfer portal.

I still say this is the best route.  We are looking at QB4, possibly QB3.  Sorry, but Richardson and/or Levis just doesn't get me excited.  Two big arms, but one consistently under-performed and the other is as raw as sushi straight off the boat.

Build the team and then find the QB rather than find the QB and try to build the rest of the team around him.  This is the way.  Anyone who thinks this team is only QB away is at homer level-10 or just completely oblivious.  They are a scrappy bunch and Wilks has them playing about the best they can, but teams with superior talent will eventually win the day against an over-matched club playing above their means.

Many more, but this should suffice.

We didn't get to keep #9, this year's #1 and to avoid 2025's first rounder they wanted DJ Moore--who is a former first rounder.  Not to mention last year's second.

The trade was horrible then and utterly atrocious now.

To whom?  DJ Chark, Ian Thomas, TMJ and a geriatric Adam Thielen.  LOl, you are hilarious.

You can't assume the same rate of success on an inferior team. I don't care if Eddie Pineiro single handedly (leggedly?) beat the Texans this year.
