Bobcats Front Office >> Carolina Panthers FO?

Give em a break. Try being a Rams, Lions, Bills, etc fan and THEN you can complain about a bad front office. Carolina has one of the better FO's.

Mr POwers, Please read my original post. I didn't bash the Panthers FO. I only posed a question since it's the off season and I tired of talking about the same thing on here. Just a good ole' fashion discussion

ah I see, yeah I'm just used to every other person on here bashing everything about the Panthers :P it's an interesting discussion, and I can't legitimately talk too much about the Bobcats as I honestly don't watch a lot of NBA, but I know that Panthers have a great FO.

I don't think the two are truly comparable....

If you look around the NFL most teams that are dominate has Franchise QB's on their rosters... these players are not easily traded for, and are not easily drafted... For every successful QB that was drafted there are 4 times as many who didn't live up to expectations or reach their potential...

It is harder to build a team in the NFL... trades, FA acquisitions are not as easy as in the NBA....

Most great NFL teams have their foundation built threw the draft. While in the NBA, the draft is almost a joke outside of the top 5 picks....

Those players get traded a moved around easily...

In the NBA it's easy for a non contending team to dump players and let the contenders load up and become even stronger....

I believe the Bobcats FO has done a great job in improving the team... but it also hasn't been thru the draft. In the NBA they have the ability to use other teams pieces to out thing together.... We know the Bobcats FO has not drafted great to get to where they are...

The Panthers FO doesn't have that luxury.... and they play in a league where all 32 teams are trying to improve and aren't dumping players to other teams because they won't make the playoffs....

It can be said that the Panthers have drafted better than the Bobcats....

I don't think it's fair to call the Bobcats FO better.

Could it be that since Larry Brown has come to town that the Bobcats are the better pro team in town?

Has the FO of the Bobcats had a better 2 years that the Panthers

Discuss?

Just some off season friendly discussion

you've got to be kidding me.

it is much easier to get into the NBA playoffs than the NFL playoffs (top 8 teams instead of 4 division titles and 2 wildcards). not only that, but the bobcats play in the pathetically weak east.

if the NFL had NBA style playoffs, the Panthers would be perennial playoff "contenders"

Can anyone read!!! Can't you answer the question and discuss something in the off season other than, Peppers X10 or John Fox X10 or Dwill X10. I take by your comment of "you've got to be kidding me" that you too think I am saying the Bobcats FO IS better than The Panthers FO. I NEVER once in my original post said this. I merely wanted to discuss something else other than the million threads that are all the same thing.

It's just a debate my friend. It's interesting to see the different views from everyone, that's all ;)

What the Bobcats FO has done has been impressive no doubt about it, however... here are the 1st round picks our FO has grabbed in the last decade:

2002: Peppers

2003: Gross

2004: Gamble

2005: T. Davis

2006: DWill

2007: Beason

2008a: Stewart

2008b: Otah

Not to mention several later round picks that turned out being good players(Kalil, Sherod Martin, Barnidge, Charles Johnson) and got good players through trade such as Chris Harris for a 5th round pick, as well as Tank Tyler for a 5th round.

Panthers front office is getting a lot of undeserved hate when really they're responsible for making this team what it is today, a stacked team that has a legitimate shot at winning it all next year. While I admit it's been kind of a rough couple years, but that happens in sports. You can't expect to win it all every year. I love the way the Panthers are headed, and still have full confidence in the organization(this could all change if Fox makes Delhomme starter next year)

I know that many of you love the fact that our 1st round draft picks have stayed with the team and contributed....but that does not make us a good drafting team.

Where are the Pro Bowlers from the 4th that we signed to long term contracts...where are the interior D linemen that we snagged in a late round in 2004...where are the UDFA that end up producing? Please don't forget all the Sheltons...and Carters....and Colberts....

Yes our top picks have been very good to us, but the inability to find "draft gems" is what is keeping us from being a very good team.

Would you rather they be busts?

Right now ther are several late picks that may turn out. Duke Robinson, Easy Mac on the like, Schwartz, Capin' Mun, Rosario(if Moore is throwing), Fiametta should be good as well as the Charles Johnsons and Godfrey.

As a huge NBA fan this sport has the easiest time scouting players. The Bobcats had an opportunity to draft Danny Grangier but choose to get sean May. Brandon Roy...but drafted Adam Morrison.
