Bobcats Front Office >> Carolina Panthers FO?

Which is easier to juggle. 5 balls or 45 balls?

For me I only like to juggle my two balls :smilielol5:

but seriously, there are many more diva personalities you have to deal with in the NBA and when you only have 5 guys on the court, it can be tougher to get the right personnel together to play effectively

But in the same vein, one wrong move out of that 5 could destroy a whole team/season, there's a lot more margin for error with 45-53 guys.

That being said. No doubt the Bobcats have had the SUPERIOR front office the last two seasons, thanks to the handling of Pep and Jake's contract. Those moves/non-moves alone are all the proof one needs.

I would rather manage 5 guys though. I have coached all big 3 sports and to me, hoops is much easier from a group perspective.

I have coached all 3 as well and would agree about basketball.

I do like that the Bobcats seem to be trying harder to get better. I can't get over the Panthers with their "we have 21 of 22 starters coming back" thing during last offseason and doing nothing in free agency.

What the Bobcats FO has done has been impressive no doubt about it, however... here are the 1st round picks our FO has grabbed in the last decade:

2002: Peppers

2003: Gross

2004: Gamble

2005: T. Davis

2006: DWill

2007: Beason

2008a: Stewart

2008b: Otah

Not to mention several later round picks that turned out being good players(Kalil, Sherod Martin, Barnidge, Charles Johnson) and got good players through trade such as Chris Harris for a 5th round pick, as well as Tank Tyler for a 5th round.

Panthers front office is getting a lot of undeserved hate when really they're responsible for making this team what it is today, a stacked team that has a legitimate shot at winning it all next year. While I admit it's been kind of a rough couple years, but that happens in sports. You can't expect to win it all every year. I love the way the Panthers are headed, and still have full confidence in the organization(this could all change if Fox makes Delhomme starter next year)

Give em a break. Try being a Rams, Lions, Bills, etc fan and THEN you can complain about a bad front office. Carolina has one of the better FO's.

Let me clairfy though. The BCats far and away or doing all it takes to put a winning product on the floor and that's all you can ask.

Football's bread is buttered in the draft and the offseason so if you don't hit it then, trades are so rare that your season could be done.

I would def put the BCats ahead of the Panthers in terms of front office.

    • I want to throw in how much easier it is for a QB to develop and improve with a good oline.  Huge credit to the front office for spending the money on our two guards.  Cade Mays also had a 2nd really good game starting at center.  Love how he has developed and hope he's the real deal. Look at what Stroud is dealing with now in Houston after injuries and problems with their oline.  Strouds accuracy has been greatly affected as it seems like he doesn't trust his protection. Canales is doing a great job developing Bryce.  I think the QB whisperer might be for real. And obviously big props to Bryce.  First round pick that looks horrible in his first year.  Different coaches and systems.  Fans and media are calling him the biggest bust in NFL history and he looked like it in the first two games this year.  Gets benched.  Young man keep his cool and just continued to work and only worry about what he can control.  I hope things continue like this and we end up with a great success story. Bryce Young kept pounding.
    • Outside of Philly (who currently is #3 in pass defense) the rest of our remaining opponents are bottom 1/3 of the League in that regard.  Let's see what Bryce can do versus bad pass Ds.
