Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill Herald joins the Charlotte Observer reporting team of Charles Chandler and David Scott on the Carolina Panthers beat. Darin has covered the Panthers for the Herald for 13 seasons. Stories by all three reporters, as well as columnists Scott Fowler and Tom Sorensen, will appear in the Charlotte Observer and on charlotteobserver.com as well in the Rock Hill Herald and on heraldonline.com. Both newspapers are owned by the McClatchy Company, which also owns the Raleigh News & Observer, the Columbia State, the Myrtle Beach Sun News, the Beaufort Gazette and the Island Packet in the Carolinas.

I still think Gantt gets a bad rap here on the Huddle. I don't always agree with him, but he's the best Panthers beat reporter out there by a longshot. Good for him.

Same here. There are always going to be writers that we won't agree with, but that doesn't necessary mean they're bad or stupid. It call "opinion".

Good for gantt he's my favorite writer, doesn't have as big of an ego as the other guys.

This is the same guy that told a caller on WFNZ "you have to pay to see the panthers play while I on the other hand get paid to watch them play".

Personally, I dont think Gannt would be so bad if he didnt spend so much time inside Martty Hurneys ass.

I like his effort, but you would think after covering a sport as long as he has he'd learn a thing or two about football and talk about that instead of whining about not getting access to players, etc.
