If you go back and look at Smitty's career game by game, you'll find this is a fallacy. When he's not being thrown to, he basically comes off the field and pouts or yells at someone. He's had several games with one or two catches. Look it up.

how do you know it is from lack of effort that pep didnt get his stats?

no matter how good smith is he has broken or injured 2 of his own teamates. pep has never gotten into trouble.

Pep is the most misunderstood player on the team. Because he's quiet, because he doesn't hang out and do stupid crap with the other players (like strip clubs, etc), because he doesn't bitch about anything, people think he doesn't care. During spring strength and conditioning, when players have to run from sideline to sideline like six times, Pep is always almost a full lap ahead of everybody else.

Every business wants the people they pay to follow the company line and they will/should reward that. Sports teams are no different, it's just more public. I see no problem with that. Things will be hard to understand for fans who don't see that and refuse to accept it.

Most of all, we have to accept that JR is a businessman of high caliber and acumen. He's already made some decisions in this time of uncertainty that no other owner has made. Get use to it.

I also see no problem with Peppers being the type of person he is. There is, however, always a price to pay at some point for being independent/different. I personally admire Julius the athlete and appreciate Julius the person.

Yea, I just gave him a few more yards to sort of prove a point. But I agree with you 100% that Peppers is the most misunderstood player. Thrusting leadership upon someone who clearly doesn't want to be, and isn't a leader is destructive. The way the organization handled the Peppers situation is what ultimately has lead to where we are today. I give little blame to Peppers for that.

I agree. Mr Richardson is a pretty fair guy, and is willing to give just about anybody a chance to redeem themselves from a mistake. The worst mistake Steve Smith has made, is lost control of his temper and hurt someone. Outside of that, he's a pretty model player. He contributes in the community, and goes all out on the field.
