What? What was "the culture" he cared about so much?

Many may have viewed JR as a just a nice, good ol' boy. But, unless you're from eastern NC and are familiar with the Hardee's, MBM business dealings that made JR one of the most disliked men in the part of the state I live in, you may have a different opinion. He was a poster child for southern white privilege.

Richardson was a stubborn asshole too, he was just much more low key.  Also probably looked and talked like a lot of the fanbase's grandpas, so that scored him points too.

Just read some of the history of Hardees and JR. Between the Spartan Foods, MBM and Hardees sales and moves, a lot of people lost their jobs in the Rocky Mount area. Once the 7th or 8th largest city in the state with close to 75,000 residents, it's now closer to 54,000 and the unemployment rate is one of the highest in the state. A lot of this has carried over for the last 30 years.

That's just a part of it. I don't live in RM, but I did work for the city for a nearly 10 years until I retired a couple years ago. I worked in the community and talked to a lot of people over the years and the overwhelming sentiment towards the entire ownership group, which included former NC Lt. Gov Jim Gardner, among others, is not positive, especially among the majority population of the city, which is black.

I see now why Steve Drummond left the organization when he did. He didn’t want to play the P.R. nice guy and have to clean up behind Tepper as he already knew what the guy was like behind closed doors. Good on him to walk away.

This is the lowest point in franchise history. Don’t give me that 1-15 nonsense, I was there for that and this is worse.

Ohh, I'm being judged.

Whatever shall I do.

Being judged by ant human is laughable.

Being judged by people who are overly judgemental is just even more laughable.

Maybe one day I should give a damn, but it would be a waste of my time.

As with every holiday season.  People are at their worse.

Spending my holidays with my 80 year old mom and dad.  Been running errands for them. They forget stuff.

3 trips to the grocery store on December 22nd and 23rd. Every time, there were people showing their asses. It's like they can't help themselves.

As with many things, I treated them with grace and mercy.

Y'all should try it sometime.

The irony here is so thick it's suffocating.

Such a weird reaction by Tepper. Did the fan say something to him (if so, awesome - hopefully he called him a cuck like the rest of us would)? If not, just weird to do what he did.

Regardless, punish the hell out of him NFL and force him to sell the team.

Good luck with that, only way Tepper would be forced to sell if he does racist and sexual stuff, throwing a drink is nothing compared to racist and sexual stuff

Naw, Drummond almost was fired for hostile work stuff and making dumb ass comments. He was allowed to leave on his own.

Yeah, selling the team is over the top. Hopefully though the NFL does impose something solid and public, as I would hope for any owner that does such an action. If the Eagles sideline guy got suspended and banned from games, what does this deserve?

He’s probably looking into a Stephen Ross type punishment

I think most billionaire owners have the similar qualities to Tepper.  Tepper either has more of a quick temper or just doesn't try to hide his emotions.

I don't condone him throwing a drink on someone at all.  I would like to know the entire situation.

I also think the responses to his actions are waaay over the top.  People actually calling for him to be banned from the NFL or forced to sell the team for splashing an inch of water at a group of people 5-10 feet away?

I hope the guy sues him so I can hear his claim for damages.

I also hope the NFL fines Tepper out the ass as this is a black eye on the image of the league.
