Will Moose be in The Hall of Fame?

I respect and appreciate what Moose has done as a Panther. But, Moose really only had one outstanding year---not great, mind you, but outstanding. He has never sustained a top 5 or even top 10 level of performance for more than a year. He was never really a receiver who would strike fear in the opposition, or command double coverage. He has never taken his team to the top of the hill (but almost did). He is really not known for making spectacular catches or being an every play home run threat.

Yeah he has been solid in his work ethic and play on the filed, but at the end of the day his level of play is really not HOF material.

Smitty will eventually be the Panthers' all time leading WR, barring injury or more years with Jake, of course...

To me, he's the best the Panthers have ever had, including Walls...

No doubt he is a better recieving threat than Walls but Smith has other contemaries that are more than comparable. Smith will be compared to other WR like TO, Moss, Harrison, Ward and Holt while also having guys like Fitzgerald and A. Johnson rising to the top recently.

Walls on the other hand as a TE was probably only comparable to Sharpe during his time in the NFL. While prior to his time with the Panthers, Walls did win a Super Bowl with the 49er's and to this day is still mentioned when people talk about the Panthers needing a pass catching TE.

Thus the reason I said most prolific. To the masses, Smith might end up getting lost in the crowd while Walls clearly still stand out.
