I don't see any reason not to.  Shitcan him, drop someone in as an interim to keep the seat warm, and hire a search committee to find a team president who then hires a general manager.

Of course even if Fitterer is fired none of that other poo will happen, it'll just be Dave and Nicole vibe checking candidates on the way to our next mistake.
