He DOES NOT pass the eye test for a franchise QB …and that is being generous. At this point he looks like a little dude who is gonna bounce around the league for 5-6 years before heading in to coaching.

Please explain to the two remaining Bryce fanboys why he doesn't pass the eye test by using the following photo.

They showed T-Law and Bryce's rookie year stats lmao, Lawrence had worst stats across the board and 30 less sacks. People on this board are mouth breathers sometimes and it hurts.

Stats don’t tell the stories and mislead

Trevor had worse talent around him.  Trevor had a worse coach. Lawrence also wasn’t playing check down small ball as a rookie like Bryce.

When the season ends, odds are Bryce only is going to of edged out Trevor in throwing less picks.   That’s largely because Bryce doesn’t throw downfield.  That’s not edging him out across the board.

Lawrence had more rush yardage

Lawrence had way more passing yardage

With one game to go, behind him in pass TDs and rush TDs.

identical pass % despite playing 2 different games (aggressive vs check down)

Lawerence took way less sacks partially due to his size and he gets the ball out in rhythm better than Bryce does.

just because they had disappointing rookie years doesn’t make them comparable.  Trevor was still lab built for the NFL.  Bryce isn’t.   Way more to be worried about here.

it seems more so than a weak arm that too many balls come out bad, whether it’s his small hands or bad mechanics I can’t tell.

Weak ass arm + Terrible mechanics. He pats the ball and does a midget hop on every throw.  His feet are all over the place. He is scared to death to stand in the pocket as a QB should. He stands facing forward until he has to pass and then he has to adjust to throw which messes up any timing.

It looked like Trevor had about 21 more passing yards per game before today’s game. Both had awful coaching around them that couldn’t last all season. It’s still a long shot for Young to turn it around as quickly as Lawrence has. The Jags hired the right coach and have been drafting well since, along with building a solid roster. Even with all of that Lawrence is still streaky.

Hopefully we hire the right GM and HC this offseason to help elevate this roster. If Young struggles again next season they need to ability to move on in 2025.

Jacksonville had two straight years of overall #1s and then another second first rounder. And then another 10 years of top 5 picks before that. They should be a dynasty with competent front office
