I’m here to admit it. Bryce Young is a bust. It’s not even a debate. He doesn’t have it at this level. Now the sad part….

Because we invested so much in a guy that isn’t going to be THE guy, we’re probably 5-10 years away from having a winning football team again.

Here’s another thing…it also means our next coach most likely won’t be successful. So in theory, we’re probably looking at a lame duck coach as soon as he signs the papers.

Buckle up folks, it’s going to be a long journey. The last time I felt like this was when we brought in Teddy Bridgewater.

I said not drafting Justin Fields set this franchise back 10 years. I wasn’t wrong.

You had me until you quoted another obvious bust, Justin Fields.

What with this Justin Fields retrospect? Like he hasn’t been good. His team was the worst in the NFL last year and it’s not good this year.

People are so obsessed with his physical talent that they can't realize he is never going to be good

Short of Cam Newton, there’s no Panther QB in history who could remotely overcome what he had to face today between Ickey and Chark being Jacksonville’s best players.

There’s an argument here, but today wasn’t the best sample for it.

Did you see the multiple open receivers that he missed?

I think Chris Tabor failed to ready his team for today’s game.  All 3 facets played poorly. Even the guys that played well all year laid an egg. D Brown, Burns, Luvu on D.  Bryce regressed, Chark had 3 massive drops.  The OC had to be commanded by Tabor to run the ball.   And lastly the OLine reminds us just how bad they are

Guys were open all day. He refuses to step up in the pocket. Staring down reads. The fact that he couldn’t build on last week lets me know he just doesn’t have it.

    • He doesn't need to play in 2025. And maybe not 2026 either from what I've read. This is but one peer-reviewed selection: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5226931/     Regarding your first question... "The optimal timing of ACLR is an important clinical decision that affects patient outcomes significantly. Even though there is no consensus in the literature, there are some trends regarding timing of ACLR. Various authors suggest that ACLR be performed at least 3 weeks after injury in order to avoid arthrofibrosis. More important than time alone, objective criteria including perioperative swelling, edema, hyperthermia, and ROM are important indicators of when surgery should be performed." https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4004131/#:~:text=The optimal timing of ACLR is an important clinical decision,in order to avoid arthrofibrosis.
    • Not sure I would be so sure they feel worse than us - their QB was better than Bryce at in the first season, they got DJ Moore, and 2 more high caliber draft picks.  We had to give up basically our entire defense this season indirectly to make that happen and we still have no true #1 WR.  Not saying I would rather have Caleb over Bryce at this point - but I would rather have their team situation and draft picks hands down.
    • A lot of people think this draft is weak at QB--I think, after the first five picks of the first round, there are a ton of developmental QBs who could develop into the role--here is the psychology behind it--Bryce becomes the mentor--you can learn as much by teaching others than by being taught.   It also makes him a true leader.  But I think there are a few QB in this draft that might not be ready now, but in 2 years, could be NFL starting QBs--Howard, Rourke, Ewers, Milroe, Dart, etc.  Talk about a cheaper backup and one that could evolve into trade capital--or if Bryce can't find consistency-his replacement.  Round 3 will have some of these qbs--maybe early day 3.
