I really don't think you can blame this one on Hurney or at least not directly. I believe it was Fox's decision to extend him. Look how long he stuck with him when Moore was clearly the better option. While I do think the Guaranteed money was way to much but Hurney signed that deal to save cap. No I do blame this entire FO for not just letting pep walk last year. That put us in the position were we had to extend a guy who was coming off his worst game ever when he was in the last year of his deal to save cap room.

If it came from above I can understand but if it was Fox he could of helped to stop the madness at that point after seeing Jake deteriorate last year. The writing was pretty much on the wall after the Arizona game and they also failed to use assets already on their roster as a correction. He could have "broke his finger" a lot sooner. I don't quite remember what that cash bonus was but it was pretty hefty. Somebody could have stopped the madness but nobody did.

The Pats are going downhill badly. People now know all they have to do is pressure Brady and press cover Moss. If he goes to the Pats after being cheated out of a SB ring from them. Then he will get what he deserves for going there. No SB ring at all. The Pats will not get another anytime soon. At least not in Peppers career.

You can't say the "writing was on the wall" about Jake after the Arizona game. Yes, the performance was bad, but it was one game.

If you were willing to cut your starting QB after that playoff loss...that had just lead you to a 12-4 season....then you are nuts.

Hindight is a great thing. That game did seem to start the official crumbling of jake. However, no one knew that for sure at the time.

I am 100% behind Moore being the starter. I would not shed a tear if Jake was cut. However, to expect JR to shell out $12M this season for Jake to be gone and then pay another back-up (who is likely no better than Jake) is just crazy.

Accept the fact that Jake is not going anywhere. Just pray that Fox has the sense and fortitude to stay with Moore.

I don't know....I think there is a reasonable arguement to be made that the "writing was on the wall" when he had Tommy John surgery. IMO, it is a pretty large assumption to think a QB of Jake Delhomme's caliber would become the poster child for NFL QBs coming back from that surgery. Jake was never very good.....he was very good in some big games and memorable moments.
