Thomas Jones calls out Brett Favre

Thomas Jones may be right, but I am not sure saying that in the press is the right thing. If Farve is not being a team player, first you say it to Farve. If he doesn't listen, then you get the rest of the team together and say it again altogether. If that doesn't work, you say it to the coach. Saying it in the press is a last resort. If he already took all those avenues and it didn't work, then him saying it in the press is ok. If not, then its the wrong thing to do.

So NOW he says this. So Favre didn't help Jones' stats this year?

I saw one bad pick and another went thru a guys hands. Don't get me wrong, Favre hurt them a few times. One guy though.

After the fact "truth" is for pansies and losers. You can't confront someone face to face at that moment, sorry, you are dead to me.

^ Agreed. Favre completely helped out Jones' running game, probably saving him from an early retirement. Also, last I checked Brett was heading to the Pro Bowl along with Jones (even if you say Rivers should have gone over, he still did decent). Yes you can blame Brett for some of those picks, but a good amount weren't his fault. I can't stand players that whine about a teammate to the media. Attention *****.

"In this league, when you're the head coach or the quarterback and things don't go well, you're going to get a lot of the blame," safety Kerry Rhodes said earlier this week, adding that if Favre chooses to commit to the Jets for his 19th NFL season, he's got to be all in.

"If he's dedicated and he wants to come back and do this, and do it the right way ... and be here when we're here in training camp and the minicamps and working out with us ... then I'm fine with it," Rhodes said. "But don't come back if it's going to be half-hearted or he doesn't want to put the time in with us."

Pretty much says it all right there. You should never air your dirty landry in the press, but I'm sure the Jet players resen allthe drama queen bullshit from Favre.

Press conference tomorrow by Favre, announce you're coming back, get into the Jet training facilty now and go to work.....or retire. Now

Favre is washed up....plain and simple.

He was good for the first 8 games last season. He stunk it up the 2nd half. The two years prior to that he was pretty bad.

This season....leads the league in Int. Last 5 or so games...he had 1 TD and about 7 Int's.

Anybody else and everyone would be calling for his head.

Favre WAS a great QB....now he is just a punchline.

The Probowl voting in Favre over Rivers and Pennington prove just what a joke the Probowl is. Take away one fluke game against Arizona and Favre was one of the worse starting QBs in the league this year. The amount of ass kissing this guy gets is just pathetic. Most QBs can throw a pick for every TD and average 6.8 yards an attempt, in fact most do better than that.

Were the Favre interceptions really a surprise? This is what he does. He has thrown the most TDs and INTs in the history of the NFL. Did TJ really think those would magically disappear in NY.

I think he's done. He needs to be apart of the team 100% or go home. He won't go into the booth or to a desk at ESPN, I don't think he has the personality for it. So Favre, go home and fish and become a farmer.

Unnamed Jets player now being quoted as saying that Favre was distant and had very little to do with teammates when he was at the practice facility.

Favre was a virtual god in Green Bay. He was treated there with an incredible amount of deferrence. I think he expected that same treatment to follow him wherever he went. Turns out it didn't.

(the grass isn't always greener)

Their players should be mad at management for making the move to acquire Farvre in the first place. Quite frankly, when people started talking about Farvre coming to the Panthers, it made my stomach churn. He was a great QB in his day, by you don't trade for 39yr old QB's, based on what they did in a completely different offensive system...unless you're just looking for a solid back up.

Really, the Panthers and Dolphins came out pretty good in that deal, because Miami got a solid veteran starter, and Carolina got a solid back up as insurance for Delhomme's elbow.

    • Start with Bryce, this is like his rookie year. The 1st 2 games proved her was wired wrong and it looks like (we hope) he needed a time out to reset and be the player that was drafted. He's still about a year or more away from being a top 15 QB, if the Panther give him another playmaker or 2 (a top WR and a decent TE) and maintain that line. Canales deserves credit as playing that card correctly to motivate (or refocus) his QB for one last shot to decide his and the Panthers immediate future. As a Panther fans we should hope he keeps improving as we invested so much to get him. CJ Stroud will never have a season like he had, even if he stays a top 10 QB. He's got great character so I'm rooting for Bryce to continue on his positive journey. Canales is playing the week to week thing with bryce perfectly. Nothings guaranteed, earn it weekly which builds consistency and consistency is greatness.  Keep the O-line. They've got to extend Brady C, along with Mayes that have a real good 7. Great job Morgan starting with the big guys upfront.  I really hope they draft a DE or OLB in the 1st round. Getting Brown back with A Robinson and what DJ has shown that we can have a decent D-line. Need a CB in the early rounds/ or a time FA to go with Horn.  The future as to next year being good enough to challenge for the division is within reach. Just show progress (win or lose) every week. Kudos to Dan Morgan. Plays GM like a LB. Tackle the problem and move on, don't just hope it works out. Find guys with your playing mentality and work closely with your HC to share a vision. Teamwork starts at the top and flows down.
