PFTV discusses Peppers prospects in other cities

no news...

We'll never know what the Panthers were REALLY going to do because of Carey's bungling. Nobody would give you 16mill and beg you to stay if they wanted you gone. The FO was probably still po'd about the treatment they got last year.

I'm just happy Feb 25th isn't far away so we can end this bulls*@t cause I'm sick of it. Neither party handled this situation well at all. The Panthers I'm afraid, will be on the loosing end of this one.

The FO and defense could loose some credibility cause if you were gonna let him go it should have been last year and then there is that filling the ProBowler, elite player hole in the D line. They don't come along often.

Summary......We have nothing to report now, so let me speculate and throw poo against the wall. Something is bound to stick...then I can say that I broke the story.

That is all.

I take it that you didn't actually watch it because they don't even attempt to do that. Florio and the other dumbass, I forget his name, spend the first 3/4 of the segment stating the case why the Panthers won't franshise him. Then they say that the Patriots were interest last year but other than that he could end up on any team.

Its pretty bad when they attempt to throw poo on the wall but forget the poo! LOL

"Anybody who drops a ton of cash on this gutless selfish punk will regret it almost immediately"

Looks like bitter Panther fans are actively posting comments.

Gutless: One can argue that he disappears at times but his post college job description says in order to get a paycheck he has to stand toe to toe with 300 LB linemen.

Selfish: I have never turned down a raise or purposely done anything to limit the amount of money someone was willing to give me for performing my job.

Punk: See Gutless Caption. Like him or not, dude is a bad agent.

Point is, the situation with the Panthers sucks but Peppers is an employee with a unique set of skills looking to maximize his wealth. Short comings be damned, he(and any one else for that matter) should get as much money as the free market is willing to give him.

I could care less about Peppers leaving. He really has not been an impact players since 04. Yea he gets sacks and has great games like the Vikes last years but that was one damn game. He should do that every game because he is capable and thats what they pay him so much to do.

I'm thinking it will go something like this...

Panthers refuse to franchise him. They can still sign him to a long term deal before FA starts but he wants significantly more than what they are willing to give. He hits free agency and sees his value around the league is much lower than what he's asking for. His agent lets him sit on the market for weeks waiting for that big offer to come in, which never happens. Eventually he signs a deal with the team that offers him the most, the Panthers. The deal ends up being less than what they offered 2 years earlier.

Just a total guess.

    • Tell me what type of QB they were especially year2?
    • IMO Xavier Legette: Very up and down season, with more downs than ups. The hands/body catcher thing is a MASSIVE red flag. He has all the talent in the world but if you are this deficient in your fundamentals, it is a very steep learning curve at this level. I suspect we are going to be talking about him as another failed Panthers WR pick in another season or two. Jonathan Brooks: What more could be said that hasn't already been said? I feel for the kid but taking a RB in the 2nd round is not smart. Taking a RB coming off an ACL tear is WILDLY moronic. One of the worst draft decisions in the Tepper era. Trevin Wallace: A developmental pick taken a little higher than he should have been and inconsistent when he saw action. Overall, he showed some flashes and should be a part of our backup/rotation for another season or so to develop. Hopefully he becomes a starting caliber player by season three. JT Sanders: Terrible start to his rookie season that quickly evolved in a meteoric rise but subsequently fell off the map after a scary injury. Absolutely should be a featured player on this offense for years to come. Possibly the best TE since Greg retired.  The Rest: About as expected. Some decent flashes from Smith-Wade but these are all backup level players, so anything we get is great. There are no "busts" after the 4th round.
    • He's been excellent in both years, having to be the top target when he he has never been a true #1 in terms of ability.
