Panthers' Beason countersues accuser

Woo Hoo...

I love the way the law works in teh South:

"A day later, Frye sued Beason. Frye and his attorney could not be reached for comment. The charges were dropped Dec. 11., and Mecklenburg District Attorney Bruce Lillie said in a statement "other than Mr. Frye's statement, police were not able to obtain evidence that Mr. Beason was the assailant."

Maybe it was Smitty, he's the one that has priors

If that happened out here in Cali, it could have gone bad for Jon just because he is a public figure. Too many bleeding heart types here.

It will go bad for beason, he messed up counter suing, now they can dig all his sorry stuff up in the past. The civil suit is still on going, here's one thing out already. Defamation of character? I think he does it well enough himself here.

Ridiculously dumb.

The reality is that had Beason not countersued, talking heads could have said "maybe the cocaine thing was true". Now that he's suing, it takes all that out of the equation.

Add in that Beason has one of the better lawyers in the area. I seriously doubt he'd have signed on for this suit unless he felt confident.

And throw in the coup de grace that Beason is a pretty smart guy while the fellow he's suing gives morons a bad name.

More likely final result would be for Douchebag to realize he's overmatched and that he screwed up by messing with Beason, after which he'll skulk back to the dark, moldy corner of douchebag obscurity he crawled out from in disgrace.

Really? Does he admit to illegal drug use? Probably not. Frye will have to demonstrate that there is validity to his public statements about Beason doing drugs or admit that he was making those statements to try and impress somebody with no malicious intent towards Beason.

yeah....maybe idk. prolly shoulda let it fade away but idk. he's not useing George L. for the civil suit its someone else. If he has a squeeky clean past then its a good move but if he doesn't it could get worse for him image wise. time will tell.

Wrong. It is about drug use. That is the claim that Frye was making that damaged Beason. What Beason and any number of consenting women (and/or men) did in the dorms at the U is not even relevant.
