Fun Fan to Fan Trade Option

So a Steelers' fan and I were talking this evening and negociated a trade between the Steelers and the Panthers. Not considering any contract status, here's what we came up with.

Steelers get: Julius Peppers and Jonathan Stewart

Panthers get: Aaron Smith, Hines Ward, Rashard Mendinhall and Willie Parker

What say you Panther nation? Should I be putting a call into Hurney's office tomorrow morning?

So let me get this straight. We give them a 1st round RB (who is better than their current RB) and one of the biggest freaks to ever play football...and we get Aaron Smith (an old 3-4 DE), a washed up WR, a RB that is worse than the one we traded, and a RB that arguably will be out of the league in 2011?? Sounds like genius to me...Call Hurney now!

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
