Halo: Reach

Slayer feels the same except having the DMR instead of the BR helps a lot. Now i know that when i fire, it's sure to hit and not magically burst around the dude's head. Choosing classes matters, each class has its own pro and con.

I think the new objective modes in headhunter and hot potato and the one where you horde flags are really good and fun.

Firefight matchmaking is also pretty fun, however you only do a couple waves and it actually ends pretty quick, but it's good for people who want to get up to speed with the controls and the whole halo-ness real quick.

I haven't tried Arena. I still need to finish campaign and I have to say that it's certainly better than Halo 3. Halo 3 was good at first but the fine young malery sort of annoyed me and the map design was suspect. The maps i've played so far in this are really good and I like the new voting system for matchmaking. The bad news is, when people leave the team, they don't go look for new people and you have to go on on your own. I've seen my team matched up against 1 person. Let's just say when it's 4vs1 it's not fun for either team. They really need to fix that, especially since both times the people left BEFORE the game started and while it was setting up the map.

Melee fights are also weird. It seems that they made them a little more decisive early on so you don't have the whole we're both hurt and we hit each other at the same time and killed each other thing that often. And the assault rifle+running towards and melee thing doesn't work as well as it did in Halo 3.

I've also found that working in Pairs works very well in slayer than it did before in halo 3. Halo 3 was more close quarters based imo and whoever had the shotgun won. They made the maps in this a little more all around. So the shotgun guy can't just plow through people, and big enough so that the shotgun guy can't sit in a corner and take people out. It keeps people moving, and it keeps people from running too much.

3-4 player co-op on legendary is fun as hell. My god. I can't wait for matchmaking to open up on that.

That one level with all the warthogs at the beginning i think it's called "tip of the spear". We all started off instantly being spammed with fuel rod fire so we all scream like little girls and hide behind the rocks. While we're standing there forming a plan the elites realize we're pussies so they start bearing down on us. They flushed us out with plasma grenades and hunted us down.

Once we figured out how important the plasma pistol was things got a little easier. It kicks ass.

Here's what I think so far.

Single player is good, if you were even halfway aware of the Halo story you knew how it was going to end before you played it, this game as with all Halo's is best played in Co-op w/friends.

The multiplayer is still halo as always but with a new twist, being it's now class based which is awesome. The holo class may just be one of the most ingenious things I've seen in a while. There's a thousand ways to use it.

Overall 10/10 damn near perfect
