3 Reasons why we can't let Peppers leave.

I just feel our DL is average at best without Peppers... There aren't many DE in the league who can be game changers, and when you get them or that potential you hold on to them....

Mediocrity is not going to win you championships... that's where it seems our team is headed. Without peppers I can still see us being a playoff team next year... but superbowl contender... thats a stretch... we will see. I do not like the decision, but I believe he is as good as gone.

Winning a championship really is a random science and you can never tell which team is going to win at the end of the year. It is all about having the right pieces. You don't need to be great in every category but you do need to have the right personnel on the field and not the people who do not want to play for the team.

Peppers is a cancer to the team and pro bowl does not mean anything to me. Great players get snubbed every year from the pro bowl. For example, DeAngelo Williams last year had the greatest season as a running back and lead the league in everything but did not get elected to play in the pro bowl. Peppers is aging and he wants Matthew Stafford money. Winning doesn't just consist of throwing the best players on a team, it's much more complicated then that. We need all the right pieces to achieve our ultimate goal which is a Super Bowl championship. If having all the right pieces means getting rid of the malignant tumors, then so be it.

A malignant tumor? Dude, if this ain't straight hate, then I don't know what it is. Pep has had one bad year in his career (one in which he was reportedly sick). He is still the premiere DE in the game, and may be the most athletically gifted DE that you will ever see. He can't do it all by himself, but he has done a commendable job as a Panther, and only John Kasay or perhaps Smitty have done more as a Panther at their position in team history.

Really? A cancer? Did you get that inside information from the team? I've never heard complaints about peppers being a cancer for the team or in the locker room... Maybe I don't recieve the same inside info as you...

I'm sure the defense enjoys when they have someone on the field who requires game planning and will take double teams at times... not to mention he played thru injuries....

You can he's not worth the money, which is debatable.... But a Cancer ???

I hate to see Pep leave but reality is what it is. He's NOT worth the money he made last year. It's unlikely a blockbuster trade will be made involving him, the rest of the league showed no such interest last year. I think what will happen is he will be given his release, and we can start looking at how to devote the money we were paying him to other team needs.

If something happens that he stays, I AM intrigued by possibilities to use him in roles outside of the traditional DE ones. Him dropping back occasionally, especially in the middle, might provide a daunting task to a QB if the timing is right when it is implemented. He was used on offense occasionally for a few years, I don't remember him catching any passes but I do remember some pass interference calls being made in our favor when he was in.

Pep is a beast. He is a disruptive force that has to be dealt with. You just can't look at the sacks as the sole stat to determine his value. Does Pro Bowl mean anything to you?

All of you Pep haters may just get your wish, and then in November you'll be crying about the lack of a pass rush even more than you already are now...if that's possible.

:iagree:

and lol at Peppers being a cancer. where did this info come from?

The reason the pass rush sucked last season was because Brown was a rookie and CJ(Fox doesn't play him enough anyway) was injured and Brayton is a run guy. Plus Corey Irvin got put on IR, and Lois Leonard broke his ankle. But yea I agree if Pep walks we have to to start digging round the league for anyone who could help. Brown will be better next season and CJ should be ready for a starting role. However I definitely would like us to look into V. Gholston, J. Moss, and A. Kampman, those guys could be had and we wouldn't have to kill ourselves for them.

Peppers is gone. Deal with it.

This is the reality of it and we are still stuck with Fox.... I'll be curious to see how Pep performs in a different system. Giving him the benefit of a doubt, you are just a roll player in a Fox system, fill the gap no surprizes regardless of your talents, just be in your position. On the other hand, if he was in a Dick Lebeau system he would have turned out like the player we all wanted him to be.... just tired of the drama and distraction..

Hmm, I thought Beason called him out? Must of been just out of fun for publicity reasons.

Its Peppers fault that Peppers hasnt reached his potential. How many years does he need to get it right? Hes gotten something close to 100 mil from the team in the past few seasons, and we havent done poo....so it may be time to see what we can do without him. It doesnt take 20 mil a year to get stood up by a rookie tackle.

Peppers does not want to play in Carolina yet all of our fans want his retention. If he does not want to be here, he will not want to play like he wants to be here and therefore he is a cancer. It's just a matter of time before he turns into Randy Moss on the Raiders.

Pep is good but not in the big games. He played when he didnt have anything to play for, most of the time.

No way the Panthers would pay that sap 20 million. It is more important imo to have a bunch of good players who can wear an offense out than a couple great player who only play when they feel like it and, because of thier high costs, we cant get other good players at all.

They should have gotten rid of him last year. PEPPERS will find out he will NOT get that same money the panthers offered him. He is 30 years old and IM willing to bet even BILL BELLICHECK will not pay him over 10 million a year, if that.

Good riddance to Peppers. But it is not really his fault though. It is John Fox and his NO SCORING OVER 14 OFFENSE BECAUSE WE DONT LIKE TO HURT PEOPLES FEELINGS calling that finally made Peppers see the light.

End of Line.
