Smith: Panthers need faster receiver

no poo you need faster receivers; you had the best RB corps in the league combined w/the worst WR corps in the league. If people double on Smith, you have no one else. You should make a push for a Miles Austin type (I hear Dallas isn't gonna break the bank for him)

I doubt Dallas will let Austin go, I keep hearing talk of AZ taking a 3rd rounder for Boldin, and we've got Boldin's old WR coach on staff now, I would give up a 3rd rounder for him in a heartbeat.

If we added another receiver that could make the defenses pay our offense has the potential to be very very good. We gotta give Moore as many targets as possible on every single down.

Marshall, Tate, or Benn in 2010.

I would love to pick up Tate in the draft. Really WR not from USC would do though.

Worst WR corps? Yeah, ok...and I suppose the saints have the best?

We have at least 2 receivers as fast or faster than Smith, Goodson and Dexter Jackson. Not that we couldn't use a few more guys as well. But honestly, when is someone actually going to work out for us instead of the usual flops.

Well according to Fox, we rather keep Goodson behind two dominating running backs instead of trying him at receiver, a position he knows how to play well

How do you know they haven't tried him at receiver? Do you have access to and attend the practices?

There's a few things I'll address in this post.

1) Sutton is a better RB than Goodson, I'd rather move Goodson to WR and have Sutton handle the #3 position.

2) There is no way in hell Dallas lets Miles Austin go, so don't even think for a second he'll end up in Carolina. He's their #1 receiver, and it's JERRY JONES, how in the hell are you going to say HE won't break the bank for their best receiver?

3) I'd much rather get a receiver with great route running and excellent hands. Jarrett has good hands, but his route running is beyond terrible which is why he can't get separation. Braylon Edwards is a great example of a guy that has speed but can't catch a ball if it was covered in super glue. He does what I like to call "body catching." If you notice all of the top receivers today, when a ball is coming their way they go up and grab it with their hands, whereas people who try and catch the ball by letting it hit them in the chest and then pull it in(see: Braylon Edwards) usually end up dropping the pass.

4) N.O. has an outstanding set of WR/TE's. They all can do the one thing you want most in a WR, and that's catch the damn ball. I swear sometimes I think they have pine sap on their gloves with some of the catches they make, it's insane how all of them compliment each other.

i know at training camp he was worked primarily as an RB but that was because stewart and williams missed so much.

he did have a good number of balls thrown to him but i don't recall any of it with him lined up as a receiver. i was expecting more work as a receiver than what i witnessed.

after he started having all of his fumbling problems he started getting moved to the back burner. from everything i heard and read, they had too many issues to worry about his development. sutton was getting the majority of attention.

hopefully this year will be different. i just remember him looking awfully young out there and him not reacting well to mistakes being made. biggest problem for him is maturity but he's still young. i've got hope that he can do some quick growing up.

gents:

jacoby ford is a play maker, a punt and kickoff returner, he had to to play under the shadow of the real heisman trophy winner, cj spiller, clemson, number 2 in all time total yards, just ahead of guess who, diangelo williams who played at memphis with a former clemson coach tommy west!

mark my word, jacoby is better than spiller!!

he will set the record in the 40 at the combines.

the clown fox and jackass hurney will not even think about him.

fox needs to go

i love matt moore, the qb that will lead us foreward, jake the fake needs to go back to his horse farm:smash:

Every corps looks bad when you take out the #1. Smith alone puts Carolina's ahead of Miami's.

This is very true.

the more i think about it.....both teams are complete opposites. if we mixed our WR corps....we'd be unstoppable.

Smith #1....Ginn#2 deep threat. bess/camarillo/hartline as slot (wes welker type) WRs......would be a damn deadly combo
