If my wife got on Facebook or any other social media platform and started trashing my bosses, I would be angry with her.  Just don't see anything positive coming from it.

That's probably a lot of us.

He's smart not to discuss that in public though.

Brady went down a step to quarterback coach and got more experience. His second stint as an OC has a limited sample but so far looks better than his first one.

Won't surprise me if Brown does the same thing.

Promising yet raw coach put in a terrible position and asked to do the impossible? The Panthers are the experience needed to do better elsewhere. This team packs years of bad experience into 1 season for them to learn from. The behind the scenes stuff too.

Heaven knows Reich Is a good person, and there's an argument to be made that being too much of a nice guy helped do him in.

It's very possible that he wanted to give Brown his opportunity and may have tried to help him after realizing he just wasn't ready.

Don't know. Gonna be interesting to see the stories that emerge after the season's over.

Put into a terrible position? It wouldn’t shock me at all if Brown and Fitterer were the instrumental guys in getting the almost universal consensus on Young. People want to blame everything on the Tepper’s but:

In February, Brown made the initial “point guard mentality” reference:

https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/23/panthers-oc-thomas-brown-introductory-press-conference-qb/

And in May basically said that Young was everything he thought he was going to be:

https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/05/13/panthers-oc-thomas-brown-bryce-young-rookie-minicamp-friday/

Do people still think that Tepper (who mentioned point guard after the draft) actually came up with that analogy? Fitterer said he had zero’d in on Young two seasons ago. Seems like Brown did a solid job of convincing Tepper about the point guard mentality and Fitterer is on record being giddy about his long crush on Young.

I think Brown is more to blame about his terrible position than anyone else. Playbook, point guard Young and his play-calling.

So 13 games in and we’ve fired our new:

Head Coach

Quarterbacks Coach

Running Backs Coach

And effectively our new Offensive Coordinator

With our Special Teams Coordinator running the show

Got it.

And Tickets for Sunday are selling on the secondary market for .45c and we don’t have our 2024 1st pick. This has to be one of the lowest moments for not just us but any NFL team, ever. Tepper needs to sell, or take his hands off the wheel, before he is forced to move the team to London or San Antonio to save it, and seeing as he wants big public money for a new facility and stadium I can see it happening.

If they let an OC with training wheels pick their QB or Tepper took his advice over Frank then that's a terrible situation to be in. I didn't mean to come off like he is the victim in the long list of crap done by this crew. Hell, he could have been one of the guys with knives in the Rhule firing. Just unknown for now. If it's worst case scenario then fug him but I can't prove more than his playbook stinks and he has crap taste in QBs.

He was absolutely another very inexperienced up and coming guy on a poorly run team that was not protected from himself. He was a freaking RBs coach, who TF let that guy run point on the QB choice? The playbook is on Frank. He was the mentor, yeah they wrote it together but who was responsible for helping him make it work? The guy who was the HC and was going to call the plays to begin with.

Unfortunately for us, this is the second time in the last few years that we've put an "up-and-comer" in that spot only to find out they weren't ready yet.

both also found themselves in poo spots with poo HCs though.  Brand new OCs are going to need help.   And time.  Brady nor Brown got opportunities in good spots to see success.  And much like rookie QBs, they have to learn on the job.   You don’t know what really work until you go through some trial and error.    And they landed in Carolina, a place that can’t really afford to allow a green OC take their own lumps.  Fanbase definitely ain’t got time for on the job learning.

Brady showed his potential right away.   Really good between the 20s for a first timer. Think it might of gone different if paired with a legit NFL HC that could have helped prioritize the ways of the NFL.    Hard to imagine things being the same if he was paired with a legit NFL HC.  Pretty sure McD is going to have both his units working a lot of red zone lol.   That’s not up to a young coordinator.

Brown never called a play before coming here.   I still do not believe he was ever intended to legitimately call plays this year.   Frank let him call 2nd half of preseason games.  That’s insurance salesman on the field.   That’s not prepping someone to call plays this season.   Maybe Frank would make it a slow joint effort in the end if things went well.  Fully believe Frank was forced to give him the clipboard and then got it back with it became clear Frank’s job was on the line in season.

There are two other people on the Offensive Staff that have called plays. I feel like this is more of a “you built this playbook, show us how’s it’s supposed to be effective or leave” scenario

If Frank demands you copy and paste a % that makes up the core and bulk of a playbook…..then that’s not writing a playbook on your own.

Then on top of that, we don’t have players that can do what the plays needed.

they are now trying to do the Steve Wilks makeover to finish respectable.

    • Easily. To be able to plug in a backup LT without much drop off from your starter? That could mean the difference between playoffs or sitting at home in January. Good/serviceable smart young and healthy LTs that won’t lose you a ball game at reasonable $$ don’t just come along every day. Everyone talks about the most important positions on a football team… backup LT is in the top 10.  Picture next year… the team is scrappy and competitive, 4 and 3 record, second place in the South. Morale is good. devastating run game that Let’s our marginal defense get plenty of rest. We play the Bucs and win, going to 5 and 3, but we lose Ickey to a high ankle sprain. Atl loses that week and are now at 5 and 3 as well. There is no Ickey and no BC because we let him go… and we go in to Atl the next week for a battle of first in the south. Week after that is the Jets…. Now they lose both by 10 and 3, respectively, and fall to 5 and 5 going in to their bye week. Atl is at 7 and 3. Out of typical Panthers desperation, they try to rush Ickey back in to the lineup with a saints game coming up…  Back to good old Panthers football, always playing catchup. Another season at .500 and the fans sadly rejoice in mediocrity, when playoffs were in reach. This team always overestimates its ability to pick up quality o line depth in the draft or FA and it always blows up in their faces. Like Chuba, I see him as being part of the core that Dan is trying to build. Work on his contract now and see if we can come out with something mutually beneficial. I’d consider 3 yrs at $25m to be very fair.
    • it would be great to have "double trouble" again, I even had a T- shirt for Williams and Stewart and the double trouble logo, was a great time to be Panthers fan. We shall see...
    • Sounds like a plan. Those are the teams we should be mimicking! lol
