Give me a few minutes while I try and reconcile all this. I think that trying to follow your logic has left me a little dizzy.

Cyberjag, I get what you are saying. I really do. But suffice it to say that Housh was (and is) younger than both Johnson and Moose, and has considerably more left in the tank. He had the pedigree to take the pressure off Smitty, as well as the other youngsters. It's not that I think Housh was the number one target to acquire, it's just that he probably would have come so cheaply, and at a time when we unexpectedly could make a serious run.

Who knows, maybe I am fooling myself, and we'll flop out the gate. The defense looks mighty good though, and I do believe that our offense is capable of keeping us in a position to win.

Even if you take Houshmandzadeh completely out the picture, my original post, written months ago, now, is still pertinent to our current situation. From what I have seen so far from our potential, it could possibly be an unexpectedly good year, just not what it could have been with a known threat opposite Smitty.
