If a long term deal cannot be reached by the deadline to tag, Pep will be franchised... to say otherwise is baseless speculation and grasping at something to report...

You don't just simply let someone of this caliber walk... The Panthers know that, and so does anyone with a brain...

It comes down to a business decision and everything has a price and he ain't worth it. Whats the ROI with him on the team making that kinda cash. Like I said before we can go 8-8 without him. It'll sting for awhile but we'll get over it.

Plus, you dont call out your employer and piss them off and expect them to bake you a cake... He's gone....Maybe these 12 steps will help you.

THE TWELVE STEPS OF PEPPERS ANONYMOUS

1. Admitted you were powerless over Pep and your life had become unmanageable.

2. Come to believe that a power greater than yourself, The Huddle, can restore you to sanity.

3. Make a decision to turn your will and your life over to the care of The Huddle.

4. Make a searching and fearless moral inventory of yourself.

5. Admitted to The Huddle, to youself, and to another human being the exact nature of your wrongs.

6. You are entirely ready to have The Huddle remove all these defects of character.

7. Humbly asked The Huddle to remove your shortcomings.

8. Make a list of all persons you had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

9. Make direct amends to such people wherever possible. Sultan33, Gmanwasright, Panther55…etc

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when you were wrong promptly admitted it.

11. Use prayer and meditation to improve your conscious contact with The Huddle, praying only for knowledge and of its will for you and the power to carry that out.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, try to

carry this message to Pepaholics, and to practice these principles.

Do threads like these mean I can make multiple threads of gloating when Pep is retained?

SLJ, if/when Pep is retained here (by contract, not tag), I will put in my sig a pic of SLJ's head looking into a crystal ball, provided someone can shop it for me. It will be followed by a caption referencing the genius of your foresight. I will keep it there for the duration of the '10 season. :D

I love how people think they know more about running the team then the owner himself. Listen, I have no idea how to run a team or how to handle contracts but I am simply a fan of the team and I put my faith in Jerry Richardson's hands.

Furthermore, I am confident that the team understands how valuable Peppers is to this team and I know they are not that stupid to simply let him walk. However, I will say that the team does not need to break the bank to sign him. The team is a team, meaning that, a team is made up of different players and not just as one player.

Therefore, by breaking the bank to sign Peppers would exceed over the amount of money needed to sign key components to make this team a Superbowl winner.

So, please guys, have some confidence in this organization. If they can get a deal done, great! If not then it is not worth breaking the bank over.

We should have traded him in 2007 or 2008 when we had the chance. We should have settled for less than a first-round pick when we had the chance last year.

We're stuck with no other option now other than to let him walk. The incompetence of Marty Hurney leaves us with no good option.

Its not all Marty's fault... if the guy doesnt want to sign he doesnt have to... If he had a different agent it would have been a done deal... Only Tony Soprano can make him sign now...
