The best way to evaluate Young

There is no way you or anybody actually believe this.

The reason they keep playing Bryce is because they think it's the best for his development.  I personally disagree.  At this point he has been developing bad habits from the constant pressure and no weapons to throw too.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "Dalton will prove haters right".

Do you believe Bryce was really hurt for the Seattle game?

Honestly, I don't care if Dalton does come in and play like the great vintage Andy Dalton.  So what?  He's not the future.  Instead, the Panthers need to figure out if Bryce is the future.  Of course Dalton would look great if he came in, that whole backup QB bump and the fact he's got 13 years more experience than Bryce.  Duh.  So it would then make sense for Bryce to get more experience to be better, right?

It's going to be up to the next coach and GM to figure out if Young can be a NFL QB or not.  Unless Tepper continues to interfere with football ops, which has been a disaster since day 1.

The team isn't moving on from Bryce Young until 2025 at the earliest.  You don't sell the farm for Bryce only to turn around in 12 months for a new rookie QB, a round 2 QB at that.

Yes.  Was he he completely broken; no.

But who cares; it was smart.  They should do it now too.  Bryce needs to reset.  These last 3 games aren't going to help him.

d-Dave is completely correct; it doesn't matter how well Andy plays.  Bryce is next years QB.   No coach is worried about being embarrassed by Dalton playing well.

Man this "he's a veteran of course he's going to be better he's supposed to be" mantra could not fall more flat now with what we know. At this moment we have seen multiple undrafted rookie QB's play marginally to significantly better than Bryce Young facing similar circumstances.

And as far as next year and 2025 goes. Sure Bryce will get the opportunity to prove himself next season. But for the sake of the locker room and the fact that 52 other players will be risking the longevity of their careers that can end in a split second you do not simply hand the QB who is currently the worst starter in the league and all likelihood is going to finish with one of the single worst statistical seasons in the modern era the keys to the team without any competition.

It's a big part of why they won't sit him. They're gonna look even worse if Dalton comes in and plays considerably better. The time to play Dalton was after he looked way better than Bryce when he played in week three. At this point the season is sunk so why bother? Just keep trotting Bryce out there and repeating the mantras. Bryce will be fine. Bryce will be a good NFL QB.

I said sit Young after the Seattle game and I was laughed at for even making such a comment. You could see in the preseason he had no business on the field. This is the 2nd QB we have picked that wasn't NFL quality. Corral and Young. We could have saved those picks if they had done their homework.

At no point in this season has Bryce looked like he belongs in the NFL. Will Levis has, Richardson has with the limited time he showed, CJ Stroud sure as hell has, even fuggin Tommy DeVito and Aidan O Connell has for Christ sake. Let's just be real, Bryce has looked worse than ALL of them. Just admit we historically fugged up and move on. He has zero upside, which is why a lot of us wanted CJ. But we all know Bryce will get every opportunity there is because Tepper is beyond embarrassed to admit that colossal mistake.

I think playing Dalton gives everyone a better evaluation on the needs of the team. Young is so far down the list as a quality qb it makes other positions hard to evaluate.

I wish more people would realize this. Continuing to play Bryce is really screwing with everyone’s’ career. They know they will look like crap with him playing, regardless of how good they are. Especially fringe guys. I can just imagine how locker room talk goes.
