Just kidding, whenver that happens to me I drop what I'm doing completely and go exercise or something. Gets my mind fresh

I play video games myself. Can't exercise to take my mind off of writing. I'm always terrified that I'll wear myself out, have a good idea, and then be too tired to keep writing and forget the idea lol.

Sounds like your novel has potential. The important thing is to just write, whether the muse is there or not. Doesn't matter if it's crap -- you can always go back to edit later. Just put pen to page (or fingers to keyboard).

As Hemingway said, "The first draft of anything is poo."

That only really works for creative writing. If it's analytical it helps to get down ideas, but I always go back and revise it because my syntax & structure get all messy when I'm high.
