Bryce Young Cannot Make Basic NFL Throws

Love to spend two first round picks on a qb who needs all of his mechanics reworked.

bryce has grown up in high end, invitation only qb camps and prep schools and has always had access to the best coaches. Top tier prep qbs these days are going to top dollar camps run by NFL qbs. Peyton Manning runs a camp every year that’s invitation only, and it just churns out nfl players.

Haven’t you wondered why it looks like all these guys on different teams know each other? Obviously Joe burrow played at osu and lsu where like half of the nfl played, but have you not wondered why it seems everyone knows and respects him? Because they’ve been playing with each other since sixth grade

Bryce’s mechanics are heavily coached to overcome his physical limitations. He’s on his toes because he can’t see. He keeps his hips squared up because he can’t see. He’s bouncy because he wants to get out of the pocket because he can’t see. He’s hesitant to throw because nfl windows are smaller and he’s not accurate enough because of his mechanics. That’s the end of it.

talking about fixing Bryce mechanics now is like talking about a car being fine, it just needs an all new drivetrain.

Also he stays in pistol or shotgun because he can’t see. Never goes under center. The only few times he did, the play was a designed roll out to get him on the edge where he could see.

Like frank reich would have realized this. Say what you want about him he’s had success as a coach and player and knows something when he sees it.

Frank was clearly lying about the whole “technique next year” thing. Because he was told to from tepper or it’s just his nature he was protecting Bryce in those press conferences.

reich (and the rest of the coaching staff) spent all offseason and the first part of the regular season talking about how smart and advanced and good at reading defenses and understanding the playbook Bryce is. That’s clearly not true, but no one has a problem saying “yeah that was bullshit.”

Wouldn't it be nice to have a QB coach to help you work on those things at the NFL level? One of the reasons Reich is gone is because some of the poo he said just doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't you want to work on footwork and dropbacks when it comes to your rookie QB in the offseason? Isn't this something all QBs are supposed to work on every single day? What exactly was McCown doing his entire time here? With all these experts on the staff the plan for how to coach Bryce and the type of offense to run and the personnel required to run it hasn't made a whole lot of sense.

Hasn't he been going to elite qb camps since 8th grade, top high schools and also the best collegiate football program along with one on one tutoring sessions?

Look at his shoulders rolling forward and internally rotating when he’s waiting for the snap

weightlifting for qbs is different and not everyone at the nfl level does the same thing but this kid has never done a press in his life I can guarantee you that

Going to have to agree with you here as it doesnt look like Bryce spent much time if any in the weight room unfortunately. Not trying to make fun or be mean here but someone smaller in stature could benefit a great deal from a little bit of a workout regiment if not for anything else to get a little more strength, speed and zip behind his passes combined with a little more mass to protect better against when your O-line is utter dog crap.

If Young had a HOF WR in his prime with Smash and Dash in the back field and he looked as bad as Clausen I'd probably agree. However, you guys can laugh and pull up all the stats you want but Bryce hasn't entered Clausen territory yet. I remember those games vividly and if you have access to the NFL all 22 I implore you to go rewatch some of his games. The few plays Bryce has made Clausen couldn't even dream of making

I dont think Young is as bad as Clausen but they are not far apart at the moment hopefully he improves.  The year Clausen played most of the games for the panthers at qb steve smith have 46 catches for 554yards played in 14 games if Clausen would have been the only QB Steve Smith would have played with his career would have been terrible.  Not saying we have a Steve Smith type WR on the team now but its hard to know what they could be doing with a better QB.  The one game Dalton started the stats were just vastlydifferent but it is one game but thats all we have to go off of.

Got it... and do you really wonder why so many old-timers have fled this place?

The level of intellectual discourse here is below sea-level...

Why do you keep coming back and posting if everyone here is so beneath you? Serious question. You obviously do not like this forum or the majority of it's posters. You keep bringing it up how all the wise members left long ago and everyone here is stupid. So why come here?

It's funny that after all the hype and fluff and Steph Curry comparison revolving around him being a point guard suddenly now what we need is a mythical guru QB coach who can unlock Bryce Young.

Can anyone even name the QB coach for these undrafted rookie QB's that are winning despite their own inconvenient set of circumstances?

If only the "right" QB coach could have fixed Sam Darnold eh? 😏

That abdomen looks pretty full. Is this the day he weighed in but didn’t throw?
