There's nothing to throw away. The guy doesn't have NFL QB talent. Just watch backup QBs around the league flash more talent.

Would you trade for browning in the offseason? He's shown more in 2 games then Bryce has all season. Yeah he's in a much better situation but he's completing like 85% of his passes the last two weeks.

Bryce may have the weakest arm I’ve ever seen in a modern day NFL qb. It is his biggest flaw and the reason why the playbook is so limited. Nobody trusts him to throw in to the middle of the field. His sideline passes take forever to get there and feel like a pick 6 in the making.

Somebody, anybody, tell me what sort of ‘creative’ solution exists for someone with these deficiencies.

Hitting a TE in the middle of the field for 17 yards on critical 3rd down will never happen with him. Go routes float. He has no zip at all.

Im trying to figure out what sort of ‘creativity’ and ‘talent’, specifically, will make this work. What throw of his would you be 100% confident in? Everyone is saying talent. Talent. I want to know what throw this dude can make, that isn’t a complete pucker factor. I don’t know one. They all feel like a pick waiting to happen because NFL corners eat him alive.

I didn't go through all 16 pages, but I think BY will be fine.

Rookie mistakes? Yup.

Does he look like the "point guard" "doesn't need elite talent...." cerebral QB that doesn't lose? Nope.

He is in the midst of a sh!t show offense that I can't remember in my 25+ years of watching this team. He's broken, but not unfixable. There's no easy fix, but a few big time FAs that support him, move Icky to LG and hit on day 2/3 draft picks will go a long way.

He's owning mistakes. He's owning other's mistakes and taking it on like a leader does. He gets knocked down 10 times, he gets up 11. His passes don't get batted. He's staying healthy despite getting destroyed week in and week out.

First fix though....hiring the correct GM/HC partnership. If we F that up, Bryce is cooked.

It's halftime so I just went through his passing charts for the season.

Here's the 20+ numbers...

Week 1: 0/1

Week 2: 1/3

Week 3: 4/7 (oops, that was Dalton)

Week 4: 0/0

Week 5: 1/1

Week 6: 0/2

Week 7: BYE

Week 8: 2/3

Week 9: 1/1

Week 10: 1/3

Week 11: 0/2

Week 12: 0/0

Week 13: 1/4

Week 14: 1/9

According to the passing charts Bryce has only attempted 29 throws all year over 20 yards. He's gone 8/29. 8 20+ yard completions all year. Keep in mind Dalton had 4 in one game in the same offense throwing to the same receivers.

I wish I could say that I'm surprised, but I'm not.

Bryce has never been accurate on deep throws. During his best statistical year at Alabama, Bryce completed only 36.1% of passes 20 yards or longer. That is freaking atrocious. For comparison, Tua's completion rate at Alabama on passes 20 yards or longer was 57.1%, and Mac Jones' was 58%.

Young's deep ball accuracy is not gonna suddenly and miraculously improve in the NFL, which begs the question: how in the world did our evaluators and scouts miss this giant red flag? I thought Tepper prides himself on using analytics, so how did they miss this?

20-yard throws Comp. Att. % Yards Y/A Y/C Drop
2021: Young 10 33 36.1% 416 12.6 41.6 9%
2020: Jones 29 50 58% 1,279 25.6 44.1 8%
2019: Tua 17 35 48.6% 659 18.8 38.8 3%
2018: Tua 24 42 57.1% 944 22.5 39.3 2%

Because he ran so well he’d draw 7 defenders to the line of scrimmage, no cover 2-3-4’s with Cam. Like what Mike Vick did in Philly. Could throw a bomb to desean jackson every play if he wanted or just run for 15

Yea...well...we don't have anything close to that now... do we?

I believe all who make themselves available for the NFL should be required to attend the combine. All the BY stuff would have been settled then. All QB prospects should be required to throw the ball.

Fittdick had full access...he chose to ignore all the red flags...his dumbass though he was digging out another russle wilson...

Two points here....

- The Alabama deep ball numbers are concerning because you have to hit on that at the NFL level. I didn't see his 2022 numbers there....I wonder if those are better after a year as the starter?

- Look at how few attempts he's made on a per game basis before yesterday. Kinda hard to get comfortable if you never do it. The connection with your WRs, their tendencies, confidence, etc. has been a non-factor for the first 12 games.

Biggest thing I noticed yesterday was our desire and execution of forcing the ball downfield. I loved it even though he was off. This will come with reps. More talent at the skill positions will help too. Having a running game adds another layer.

I wouldn't be surprised if the conservative play calling under Reich was a direct result of Young's limitations.

Bryce mostly made plays when he had to improvise today. However, he failed to make plays when he had no pressure and had time to throw from the pocket. He made, like what, 4-5 inaccurate deep passes that were all overthrown? I recall Vilma attributing this to his terrible footwork due to him being more "tosey." I'm not footwork specialist or have an idea of how it works, but I would image his footwork to be impaired due to having to tippy-toe in order to kind of see over the line. He's proven me wrong in being able to take NFL hits, but it's clear that he can't see over the line, hence, needing to tip toe which then impacts his footwork (my guess at least.)

It has nothing to do with seeing over the line.  He isn't setting his feet when he throws because he doesn't trust the protection.  You can see a difference in the early games and now
