Cornerbacks

Haven't seen much about this topic in particular.

I was just wondering about our corners (and secondary in general, but I want to focus on the corners). I already know about Gamble and that he is a solid corner. Captain is nice for the nickel role. But my question is with Marshall. I knew he was a good nickel back during his first two years. How do you all feel about him going forward? His strengths and weaknesses?

Seeing that his contract is up, and taking into account his performance, do you think it'll be best to stick with him, or find another starter opposite Gamble? And could Captain be a replacement for Marshall?

I hope we end up being able to keep Marshall. while I really like what captin showed this year I just don't know if he's ready to be a #2 quite yet.

I think where our main questions marks are lie at saftey, while chris Harris is sick I dunno what the outcome on who plays opposite of him will be. I rember alot hate on godfey early on and then Martin came in and showed flashes of starter potential.. So that's where i think our biggest concerns are with consdering the DB's

Marshall outperformed Gamble in my opinion and the stats tend to back that up. Marshall deserves his starting slot again next season and with him looking to be a restricted free agent, we can simply apply the 1st round tender on him. Unlikely anyone would take him for that compensation.

Godfrey is really developing into a hard hitting fumble causing machine like Harris, while Martin is showing a lot of potential in safety coverage. I like them both and would like to see them share time situationally whereas Martin would be best suited if we face a strong passing offense or in third and long. Do you think that is feasible or do you think it would upset the rhythm in the secondary?
