HELP! Screwed by Doubletree!

Spoken like the "customer service" people I have been a customer of for years. I guess the management are all making reality TV shows. Well too bad for them. Bottom line is what?

LOL!

Bottom line is they lose about $20 in profit while you forfeit all the advantages you've built up by being a loyal customer. :D

If yall want to make reservations early to cover the establishment jacking up the price because the Panthers do well, make them for one day at the time. That would have prevented this bitchin. I have stayed MANY nights with these people (when the Panthers were not in the play offs. ) Maybe they will get enough off the Playoffs to cover all the nights that we are not in the playoffs.

I started this thread to find an alternative. WTF. No help. Thanks anyway. I will be there.

GO PANTHERS!!

They lose all the future nights I would have stayed there. I will case in my points to the last. Really. that thought process you put here is good business?

Well, if you would have asked for alternatives instead of playing this innocent victim act, putting down the Doubletree for following their end of the rate conditions, maybe that's what you would have gotten. Instead, you go off on a tirade of how shitty they are for changing the rate when you changed your reservations.

If you're asking for an alternative, then ask for an alternative. But as others have stated, there are no other rooms downtown.

As for jacking up the price, a $40 increase isn't exactly "jacking up the price".

Dude, I travel a LOT. I know points. I know how long they take to accumulate. In the long run, you're hurting yourself a lot more than you're hurting them. If I could spend $40 to become a gold customer with ANY chain, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, it may seem like it sucks right now, but in the long run you're probably going to be happier sticking with the Hilton and enjoying the benefits you get in non-special occasion stays.

Be cool, we all get pissed at the big corporations sometimes. Don't make any permanent decisions based on this experience without a comparable alternative in your pocket, ok?

What kind of help were you looking for? Did you think the Huddle is made up of hotel owners and their subordinates?

I thought there were some Charlotte residents that knew of transportation to and from the game from remote locations. Please don't make this into a complaint about the Huddle or Charlotte in general. I have found Charlotte hospitallity fantastic!

Read your opening post, speed. You are going off about the hotel raising the rates on you, omitting that you changed your reservation. That sounded like your rant.

If you were looking for transportation advice from remote locations, then you should have stated this. I guess in hindsight, you are learning how you should do things at the onset.
