Just from my experience in dealing with certain members of society, 99% of them are all talk in that department. You know they were serious when they show up at your house or place of buisness, and you react accordingly.

Electro wasnt all talk. I think thats kicker here.

The internet age is a strange thing...i think my age makes me really hesitant to take any "internet friendships" beyond the internet itself. Strange really, as im sure most people i 'meet' and 'like' on the internet Id probably really like in 'real life'. But, me being a 1st generation internet person, i probably miss out on meeting a lot of good people because of my hesitancy to start "friendships" in the cyber world. This unfortunate situation does nothing but confirm that.

Is that irrational? Maybe. But maybe not.

I know I dropped a bit of sadistic humor in here, but I think I have another serious thing to say...

It's quite possible that the man had dual personalities... Maybe one was triggered by certain things (such as alcohol as others have mentioned) and he didn't know how to control it...

To me, it is fair enough to say that both perspectives are right... We all, in a way, have good and bad sides...

I don't think it's fair to harp on either of those sides too hard when the person is no longer around to defend themselves...

That said, sure, some things are inexcusable... and many of you have touched on those things that were more personal to you... But, banning someone from a messageboard or tailgates isn't really helping the real problem... Sure, it avoids the conflict, but if any threat he ever made was understood to be serious, the cops should have been called...

I'm not saying it wouldn't have helped, and it could have made things a lot worse... but just letting it go when you have serious concerns is, in a way, your own fault...

Please don't think I am attacking "that side" because I am not so naive that I think he was a perfect angel that others would have you believe... I'm just trying to keep an element of fairness out of respect for the dead, and I can appreciate that that is exactly what this thread was started for...

So of all the threats that were made by electro, some of which people here had taken very seriously, who all filed a police report and went to the magistrate and sign out a 50b on him?

With all due respect SLJ, I generally don't think it's a good idea to tell someone who feels (or felt) threatened, what they ought to do or feel. Especially women.

You've got ladies on here who are seeing honor and well wishes given to someone by whom they felt personally threatened. That's a really tough spot to be in, and I think we have to be mindful of that.

Ive had another question, that maybe i can ask here, since its all on the table apparently..

What other health problems was electro going thru prior to his Pancreatic Cancer diagnosis on Friday? People keep referring to the pain his was going thru, and why he didnt tend to his horses, etc...Surely...with so many good friends here, someone had to know something. Im not a Dr., but i just have to believe something had effected his brain/thinking, with starving horses and bags of horse feed there. And the fact that this had been going on since summer. Shame on the Sherriff, btw...

Another thing that disturbs me is his girlfriend that posts here saying she had been with electro as recently as Sunday....and that the animals were cared for, etc. etc.....why does she feel a need to even discuss that? And if she was actually there, saw all this, then, please..one of her "friends" here should reach out to her, because she obviously needs it.

All bizarre.

and don't get me wrong either...I have been here more than long enough to know about the threats and how people felt at the time and how some feel about it now too...I was one of the folks who either wanted him banned or might even have banned him a time or two myself...nobody wants to live with being threatened by anyone under any circumstance. I will again repeat though, nobody has ever denied that there was lots of instability, and I will also again repeat, there was never, ever any follow through on any of those threats...no belittling any of the threats or anyone that was threatened, I'm just stating the facts. Was he capable...perhaps...but he never did do anything.

and...more than enough people knew that 9Lives was Electro as well and yet he was able to spend all that time back on the huddle making post after post.

I am playing devils advocate with this but put yourself in someones shoes who got a death threat.... Police come to his house possibly lock him up at most a couple of days then he is 10000x more pissed off at that person for ratting him out and who knows what happens after that?

I never knew his name other than Clifton to do so althought I was encouraged to when people saw the IMs he sent me. The day of the big threat against me, I was scared to go home and I asked a male friend to meet me and when he read the threats made, he called the cops and they came to make sure my house was safe and 9L wasn't there.

Nah it's cool bro, and I completely understand that...

If any of them would ever feel threatened enough, hell, I would hope they know they could come to me and make it known... I'd get the wheels turning on correcting the situation if they didn't feel comfortable doing it...

I wasn't trying to tell them what to do or feel, and I am sorry if it came across that way... I was more trying to keep things from going completely to that side...

There are those of us caught in the middle, who never knew the guy other than how he represented himself publicly here, that are hearing a bipolar report... at first, he was awesome... now, not so much... So I was trying to really just keep things more neutral and hopefully keep things in perspective should a similar situation to those being discussed currently arise...

Again, sorry to the ladies if you took at as me talking down to you or demeaning your perspectives... I often cannot truly convey how I feel by simply typing things out, and I hope you know I do love all of you folks here at the Huddle... even idiots like Meat and g5jamz (although, to Meat's credit, he isn't THAT low on my rankings)...

I hear what you are saying, but if I felt there was a legitimate threat communicated to me, I would not sit idle and wait for it to materialize. I can not see any rational person doing that. That being said, NO ONE did anything about the threats (legally speaking) that he had made. Why? Maybe they were not all that scared and frightened to begin with.

and Cosmo...don't take my posts the wrong way...I totally remember that and I seem to remember being one of those that tried to convince you to have someone go home with you just to be safe!

You did the right thing that day, and I applaud you for it, and it's things like those that should have kept him away permanently...

This is always why I wished some of the threads weren't deleted - they usually were because they'd get way out of hand. I always wished they would just be locked so people could go back and see and remember and think, gosh, that could have been me. I'd even kind of forgotten how bad things got and was able to see one thing in the last few days which brought back a flood of memories. Hawk, you were one of his targets for quite a while - not one who had anything to worry about because you didn't live within driving distance. But I remember your altercations with him as well. It's wonderful you patched things up with him - you're a much better person than me to even want to try to do that.

Please don't take this as an attack, but should you have chose to file a report in reference to the threat communicated, an investigation would have been done and his name would have been obtained. His name, along with his address and the report number, would then be enough for the restraining order. Not that a piece of paper will give you any physical protection, and would have gotten the ball rolling. If every person he threatened would have done the same thing if they felt the threat was legitimate, you would see upgraded charges.
