A more fair statement...

I remember the first time I met a handful of some of you on here. Zod and I met up with about five Huddlers at...yes, Pizza Inn (shut up!)...and they all talked about how their wives gave them schitt about meeting up with people they only knew on a message board. I remember thinking that was odd that people would have those trepidations, but not now.

Since I work in Information security, I have heard some real horror stories. I try to avoid giving out to much personal information on the net, although I probably give more than I should. Its hard enough to truly know people you meet in person, much less those you meet on an internet message board.

So you're saying Go to Girl is lying? Come on man, why would she lie about something like that?

I am saying she is telling her side of the story.

Perception will always be the question..

Did Clif hurt her? No--

Did he hurt anyone here other than himself- NO..

End of story ..

Legally I could have warrants on over 1/2 a donzen folks here for "communicationg threats" by NC law- it never went that far, no one got hurt, so I will call BS on the fact of "dislike" between the two parties.

Good day.

no one is a saint- every one of us when we die, if those who we have wronged spoke at our funeral there would not be much room left for the good.

And that’s just the truth in life.

We all make mistakes.

No one is putting Clif on a pedestal, but to slander a dead man is counterproductive and disrespectful, even more because most never really knew him.

I've seen people suggest that. I look at it this way. Remember the person for who they was. Learn from the good and from the bad. Im not perfect no one is but we each bring something to the table. This is a new society where you meet people on message boards. Not everyone is going to like one another but just like society in RL we tolerate people. So you are going to have this with every death that happens here. Hopefully it will help people learn and grow and become better people. Clifton had his good parts and bad parts but he did post here for atleast 3 years so we got to know a piece of him. Being a MB what we do is talk about things. So I see no problem talking about this.

while 9L may have driven some people away, i think this 'sympathy' thing is misplaced. while GTG and CG were taking a break from the forum, the rest of us had to read AK's posts like this all the time. if anyone deserves sympathy they should be giving it to the rest of us.

:D LOL - love ya, rodeo!

Hey, I had to read your post on the tinderbox.

Ok, well I guess I didn't really have to, I just couldn't help myself. :)

I take no issue with you choosing to remember your friend fondly AK. What I think is frustrating for a large portion of the posters is your taunting of GTG and Cosmo for sharing real events that happened to them because they don't fit the version of Clif you've chosen to remember.

And just for the record...sending someone a single PM threatening them with bodily harm is a 'mistake' or sign of poor judgment. Repeatedly doing so to multiple people, then following those up with phone calls and Instant Messages is the sign of a truly troubled and scary individual.
