A more fair statement...

Zod

Actually, I'd stand behind you for doing it. It's been educational.

Agree here as well.

I remember the first time I met a handful of some of you on here. Zod and I met up with about five Huddlers at...yes, Pizza Inn (shut up!)...and they all talked about how their wives gave them schitt about meeting up with people they only knew on a message board. I remember thinking that was odd that people would have those trepidations, but not now.

I don't want anyone's sympathy - the only sympathy that is needed is for his family. If I had my druther's, he still be alive and kicking and healthy, the animals would have been well cared for. I was fine just staying out of the line of fire. I'm sorry for what happened to him and so sorry for his family.

It's less sympathy for you, more exasperation at some of the glossing over that's being done in this and all the other threads. I hate that he bullied you and others, and I truly hate that he was so troubled that he neglected the animals he professed to love, and that he took his life and left a bunch of people to miss him. I just find it idiotic for people to brush off cruel behavior simply as, "aw, shucks, that's just Clif bein' Clif!" It's sad all the way around.

I wont defend him for that- but everyone is human and we all make mistakes and do things we are not proud of.

I am sure Cliff regreted the whole situation, that is why I am upset that folks choose to play "that card" now.

There was a time when he was living for the truth to come out, and debts be settled. Death is no time to "get back " at a man.

No one here is perfect, and we have all done things we wished we could take back.

Even Clif would have done some things differently if given the chance. I know that.

I know some think he is just a crazy ass man who got what he deserved, but no one deserves what happened to him, and even in his last mistake folks shine at the oppertunity to prove him wrong.

Christian or not, this is not honorable, nor something I would ever support.

We will all pay for our wrongdoing, clif is no execption, but there is nothing to gain by getting back at a dead man.

Let him lie in peace.

I think people will let him lie at peace but they didnt want people thinking he was a Saint. No one is but some people where calling for the T4T drive to be named after him and the first tailgate. Some of the things he did was wrong but if you read Zod's first statement I think he said it best. I hate seeing anybody take there life but it was his decision.

I didn't know the guy personally, and he never messed with me at all, but he sounds like a real asshole in real life. I don't have any first hand experience with the guy, but lacking personal experience has never stopped anyone else on this board from posting their uninformed opinions, so there.

thats all you need to say- nothing more.

while 9L may have driven some people away, i think this 'sympathy' thing is misplaced. while GTG and CG were taking a break from the forum, the rest of us had to read AK's posts like this all the time. if anyone deserves sympathy they should be giving it to the rest of us.

no one is a saint- every one of us when we die, if those who we have wronged spoke at our funeral there would not be much room left for the good.

And that’s just the truth in life.

We all make mistakes.

No one is putting Clif on a pedestal, but to slander a dead man is counterproductive and disrespectful, even more because most never really knew him.

So you're saying Go to Girl is lying? Come on man, why would she lie about something like that?

So their memories and experience of him is slander?

I understand that you're troubled at the timing of this discourse but it's not slander. It's a truth, an ugly one.

I don't get your logic on this.

Exactly, Squirrel. The other thread seemed to make him a Saint and how wonderful he was. This thread it to enlighten some who didn't know and who thought the comments in the other thread were cruel.

No tailgates should be in his honor. The tailgates worked fine in all the years before him - and only this past year was he a fixture - maybe a couple the year before after his banishment was over. Ranucci and Mush do most of the work. If something happened to either of them, then I'd be all for it.

And based on his history, if the T4T drive was named for him, I seriously doubt the Panthers would put it on the jumbotron or want anything to do with it. Assault on a female or assault on an officer can get a player cut from the team. Do you think the Panthers want to be associated with that from a group donating to needy kids?

No one has slandered anyone in this thread.
