i didn't really know clif, but did speak to him on the phone a few times to get tickets(some offered for free), and the last time he said he was going to get me a good deal on a jersey just to help out a fellow fan. i only knew of his generosity.

I have heard many instances where he was the most generous person and would give you the shirt off his back. I witnessed his dark side on the Huddle when he posted as 9Lives. It was only recently when I finally realized that 9L=Electro.

Everyone has their own memory of him and I am not questioning their side to this sad story. I respect their differences and hope we all learn a little more compassion and understanding.

I also know I hope I never have to experience the kind of dark side from a fellow Huddler than some have.

:nono: You can rest assured I have learned a lot here.

Honestly I dont think so. He wasn't a saint but he wasnt a angel. It is always good to get feelings out there as long as people respect each other. It was going to come out sooner or later.

I agree Squirrel. It might be helpful for some, troublesome for others. A walking contradiction on the Huddle...both sides existed for different people.

Just from my experience in dealing with certain members of society, 99% of them are all talk in that department. You know they were serious when they show up at your house or place of buisness, and you react accordingly.

From my professional experience dealing with people who threaten others, you are a fool if you don't take everyone of them seriously. People who have gone postal are often described as quiet shy people until they blow. Or they make threats but until they go off, seem all talk and no action. In fact because people don't take them seriously they escalate the action. I am glad when he found out that he was dying he didn't decide to go out in a blaze of glory taking everyone out he had a grudge with. But if he had, he wouldn't be the first and he surely fit the profile.

For what it is worth if you wait until a person shows up at the door it is way too late to react accordingly. Unless of course you have an AK-47 with you every time someone knocks on the door or comes into your business.

I am sorry but there is little I think I can learn from this situation and have seen similar ones all too often. I never saw the good side of the man, just the opposite. I have largely kept distant from this conversation as I have learned that if you can't say something good about the newly departed don't say anything, so I have been silent. But when you made the comments about not having to take threats seriously, since he never acted on them, I felt a need to respond. Guys like Electro are exactly the type of guys who resort to violence. This time it was turned inside but could have just as easily been turned against others. He was obviously depressed, disturbed and had little to nothing to live for. The perfect recipe for a timebomb. Any inhibitions he had in the past which caused him not to act could have easily been dissolved away after learning he was terminally ill. It was only a matter ot time before something like this happened.
