Sporting News Today Free Agent list (all of them)

FWIW: I outlined the Panthers' possible scenarios should a new CBA not be reached in this thread:

http://www.carolinahuddle.com/forum/carolina-panthers/27745-what-will-happen-in-an-uncapped-year-in-terms-everyday-panthers-fans-will-understand.html

Should the CBA not be agreed upon before the offseason begins, the following Panthers will be Unrestricted Free Agents:

Tyler Brayton, DE

A.J. Feeley, QB

Josh McCown, QB

Muhsin Muhammad, WR

Julius Peppers, DE

Hollis Thomas, DT

Keydrick Vincent, OG

Dante Wesley, CB

…and the following Panthers would fall under the exception of being 4th and 5th year players scheduled to become Unrestricted, but instead becoming Restricted Free Agents:

James Anderson, LB

Thomas Davis, LB

Jeff King, TE

Richard Marshall, CB

The following Panthers will become Restricted Free Agents, having only been in the league 3 years:

Louis Leonard, DT

Rhys Lloyd, PK

Matt Moore, QB

Quinton Teal, S

Tank Tyler, DT

C.J. Wilson, CB

Also, if there is no cap, we can use a Franchise tag AND TWO Transition tags on any of the potential UFAs:

Tyler Brayton, DE

A.J. Feeley, QB

Josh McCown, QB

Muhsin Muhammad, WR

Julius Peppers, DE

Hollis Thomas, DT

Keydrick Vincent, OG

Dante Wesley, CB

I don't think there is anyone on that list that we'd tag with anything other than Pep... but I wanted to provide you with even more reasons Free Agency won't be that great in an uncapped year... Teams can protect their top 3 UFAs in some form, and then the 4-5 year players that would have hit UFA status in a capped year will now become RFAs...

So, I say all this not only for the sake of discussion of FA movement, but also to outline the limited options that will be out there for those thinking we can so easily replace Peppers...

I really like Burleson, but I really doubt Seattle lets him go.

and regarding Wilfork: Bill Belichick isn't an idiot. He knows the demand for a dominant player like Wilfork, and there is no way in hell he walks. He'll get franchised and traded if they really don't want to give him a big deal.

Other than that, I like Kampman as a 4-3 DE, and possibly Merriman as either OLB OR a DE. He has the strength, size, and speed to be a dominant DE. He just came off a serious injury, people need to give him a break. I think he'll have a huge year(10+ sacks) next year.

I cannot agree more.

The fact that we need a # 2, and a #3 reicever is clear but i say we draft a plyer and get burlenson or just draft a reiceiver, why? well a young reiceiver like Mardy Gilyard from UC would be like a percy harvin: Third receiver and Great Kickoff/punt returner( we all know we want an electricfying kick/punt returner) I mean when was the last time us panthers fan saw a kick/punt returned for a TD ( not counting the 85 yrd punt return desean jackson did to us in week 1 =(...)

NFCCG seattle I'm pretty sure. That's a while.

I think Steve Breaston is restricted; would love to find a way to get him in Charlotte. Gilyard or perhaps Shipley in the 2nd round also.

I'd like Gilyard.

If I were going to try for a Cardinal receiver, I'd prefer Early Doucette, but that'd require a trade and the Cards may well see him as Boldin's successor, so I doubt it happens.
