Has anyone thought about the extreme advantage she has over other drivers because of her weight? Not as much as she enjoyed in open wheel (where weight distribution is even more hypersensitive), but still huge. I remember a story about Michael Waltrip and Jimmy Spencer asking NASCAR for something that could make up for the 100 pounds they had on most other drivers.

It is a big advantage, which is why you rarely see tall drivers. Michael Waltrip, and the Pettys just happen to be in the public eye a lot. Of course, in Richard's time it wasn't enough to bother the massive car.

I thought drivers had weigh ins and then they dictated how much weight to add to the cars from that? I remember Smoke joking about his weigh in last week.

That theory makes sense.

Couple of years ago there was talk to do that and add weight to those that weighed less.

I heard that too and with Stewart making a joke about his weight at the weigh in thought they just implemented it.
