Pep No longer wants long term Deal

Listening to the entire interview it was like listening to a real life Rocky Balboa!!

No wonder why Peppers never speaks to the media, he has trouble just putting a sentence together.

I found it interesting that he said he didnt deserve the contract he was offered, yet at the same time he sounded offended that the contract that was offered to him would have "barely" made him the highest payed defensive player. Not interested in money?? Hmm...

He starting to sound like John Kerry: flip flopping. :P

I guess that would make your thoughts speculation as well. Its funny how NFL.com is also reporting the same thing. I guess some of the people on here should do the story on it.

did you even listen to or read the article? Because all those guys have is the same interview, and Peppers did NOT say that

My point is, why are they all interpreting that way. Put away your wants for a second and really think about the situation. I know alot of guys love Pep and dont want him to leave, but look at the situation.

thats the problem. Im don't care what he does. Sure I want him to say, but its not about what I want. My problem with this situation is, everyone is Interpreting what he said. Last time I checked, you can't read someone's mind. Peppers didnt say he didn't want to sign a long term deal. Thats it.

Just for contrast. Gross's deal was signed Feb. 16 last year. The negotiations were representented to the media as amicable by the Gross camp. If you'll remember, Gross was a candidate for the tag last year as well. It seemed that Hurney's #1 priority was signing Gross last year, then dealing with Peppers with what he had left.

What exactly is different this year? Pep is most likely the #1 priority FA to sign, unless JR/Hurney/Fox have inexpicably lost their ever loving minds. With only the information available to a fan, all I can tell so far is that Pep's agent is a bush leaguer and there's a reason Pep is usually silent (know thyself danielson).

A Billy Packer led discussion spun by PFT and ESPN is causing all this hoopla? Really? The professional (Hurney) involved in these negotiations has enough sense to keep his mouth shut until it's time to actually do something. Pep's agent has to come to Hurney unless he wants to be franchised (and possibly released the week before the season starts if JR doesn't want to pay that 20M). If Pep's agent wants to play hardball, the franchise holds all the power. Pep and his agent need to be working out a deal -->>key words here -->> behind the scenes. Showboating in the media can only hurt his position.

I still think he'll get signed. There were all sorts of rumors and stuff going around about RAndy Moss going to Green Bay and everywhere else. This happens every year, then all of the sudden "Breaking News" such and such signs a long term deal. Thats what this whole offseason thing is about. Reporters get it right sometimes, and they get it wrong, alot.
