Pep No longer wants long term Deal

The line they are quoting in the ESPN article ... about Pep's "option he wanted most" I understood in the context to mean that LAST YEAR he wanted to play elsewhere, but this year it wasn't... He even said that...

This is what I typed in the other thread as I listend to the interview...

"Last year, that was the option he wanted most (to not play for the Panthers) but this year it's not"

So, again, as I understood it, he was talking about wanting out LAST YEAR... not this year...

It's sad that the media has to spin so much to have a story...

Nobody answered my question. Do you actually think he wants to be here?

I think he wants to be... absolutely... Why wouldn't he? He even said he saw that this unit was capable of very good things if they stayed together...

As others are saying, it basically seemed to me like Pep is pleading to hear SOMETHING from the Panthers, and our dumb FO isn't obliging right now...

I think both sides have bruised egos. I think Pep does want to be here if he didn't he would not have done the interview. Both sides just need to stop being stubborn and sit down and sign a long term deal.

yep, the media is trying to paint Peppers in the light that he wants out.......fact is, Peppers has basically repeated twice that the reasons he wanted out no longer exist. That gets intentionally played down by the media.........I think there "interpretation" is the one Carolina wants spun. Every headline says he wants out.......he never said that.....he said the reasons no longer exist and throws out the suggestion he is disappointed Carolina doesn't want to work things out.

So what is everyones argument with Carey then. It is obvious that Peppers is a puppet.

Carey just has no idea what he's doing... If he did, Pep would have been extended long ago (before last offseason even happened)... and when he talks out of his ass to the media, it does no good on either front, theirs or the Panthers...

All players are pretty much their agents' puppets... Most of these players aren't all that smart when it comes to these things, and they need someone to handle their business aspect of things when it comes down to numbers and legal jargon...

Given the strength of the bond between them, Carey probably has more freedom to make stupid decisions on Pep's behalf than other agents would...

You're forgetting three very important words that Peppers appended to that statement: "At this time."

Peppers wants out; he just doesn't want to run his mouth off like he did last season in fear of being tagged or traded to a team he doesn't want to play for.

You sure? I mean I don't doubt your opinion but did you listen to it or read some of the interview?

I just don't agree. I'm no expert and you could be right but it just seems like he wants to be here.
