You guys are on the right track but missing the bigger picture.

The Who did the half time show this year not because some old execs liked them. The SB was on CBS which has about 20 different CSI shows, all of which have a The Who song in the opening credits.

I'm not sure what network is carrying the SB next year but lets say it was on FOX then I could see a best of of the American Idol muscians including / headlining Daughtry or maybe even the cast of Glee doing a much of different songs.

If it's on ABC then look for Jonas Brothers and/or Miley Cirus. That type of stuff.

Do I like it? Not really but if its going to be more current it also has to have some type of connection with the network to help sell other products.

With it being in Dallas i'm thinking it will be country.

I could see a couple of acts pairing up and putting on a show.

Rascall Flatts, Reba, Carie Underwood Tim McGraw and Toby Kieth come to mind.

Oh and Taylor Swift too

Taylor Swift would be acceptable, but you won't see it happen until she's irrelevant and 30 years old (and 30 is still a stretch - maybe 40).
