Ok so I was a year late

Jamaal Charles had 5.9 yards per carry last year. He eclipsed 1,100 yards on less than 200 carries, and he did all of this on an offense with no where near the weapons as the Saints have.

Oh, and he was picked in the third round.

He was looking pretty impressive. Much more impressive than Johnson or whoever it was who got cut for mouthing off.

2) Bush averaged 5.5 yards a carry rushing and 9 receiving. Name another player in the league that does that. He is the most productive RB in the league in regards to yards per touch. Any team in the league would give the #2 pick in the draft for him because he has clearly become what everyone thought he would

Jamaal Charles

Chris Johnson

Pierre Thomas

Ray Rice

DeAngelo Williams

Jonathan Stewart

Who are they? Guys with more than TWICE the # of carries that Bush had and who have at least 5.0 yard per carry. As for most productive RB in the league... are you serious? More productive than Chris Johnson? What are you smoking? If he was so productive why did he have only 70 carries this season???

Look back over that list I just posted... see any #2 picks on it? Didn't think so... Reggie has never lived up to his hype or draft position. Hell, he's not even playing better than Pierre Thomas... where was Thomas drafted? How about reminding me of that... yeah, that's what I thought.

The NFC Championship game was the first game I've seen Bush come even close to his hype in... otherwise he runs like a scared little girl.

Who the hell seriously still tries to argue that Reggie Bush was anything other than a monster reach? I mean he's a good change of pace back/situational player, but he just wasn't worth the #2 overall. First round picks are supposed to become either eventual fulltime starters or guys who could start and produce at a high level at the drop of a hat, like Jonathan Stewart. Not punt returners.

Well said.

1) Compare Brees Stats over the last 3 years with anyone else in the league and he is clearly #1. Not to mention he has a ring

Dan Marino is better than Brees & he doesn't even have a ring. Are you trying to imply Brees is #1 because he just got the ring? Sorry, but people who bring the ring up as why they're the best is just an excuse. Ignore the ring thing for once & look at how someone play. Brees isn't #1, but he is one of the best in NFL for sure.

2) Bush averaged 5.5 yards a carry rushing and 9 receiving. Name another player in the league that does that. He is the most productive RB in the league in regards to yards per touch.

You're kidding, right? Bush was quite overrated & never accomplish more than what Chris Johnson, Peterson, Double Trouble, etc. could do & that is having good stats. Bush couldn't even get 1,000 yards & more like DeAngelo does in more than just one season. DeAngelo will get more & will always be better than Bush.

Any team in the league would give the #2 pick in the draft for him because he has clearly become what everyone thought he would

Become what everyone thought he would? You mean the Saints fans? Sorry, but he is just a popular name & not really all that great like some would say. Looking at other RBs I & other mention, they are better than Bush will ever be.

3) What coach in the last 4 years has brought their team to the NFC championship twice and won a Super Bowl?

Only one.

And it took them 4 decades to win the big one, where Bucs did better in less than 3 decades. Yeah, big whoop.

Rings count, stats don't. Saints were 8-8 the two years he was putting up big numbers. Brees is very good but not clear cut #1.

as others have said bush isn't anywhere close to being the most productive RB in the leauge. YPP doesn't mean your productive. It's pretty easy to get a high average when you have other guys doing the dirty work. Williams and stewart have a nice YPC because they share carries, but at least they spilt a good number of carries. He's a valuable role player, but not an elite RB. They are wayyyyyyy more RBs better than him. I would want him to be worth his potential too with that big contract but he's not even close. #2 picks carry teams not just come in at certain times.

Our #2 pick has several pro bowls, all-pro awards, and DROTY. That's living up to the hype. Any less is failure with the contracts they get. See how large his contract is if he hits the market. See how much teams will pay for bush.

3) I'd say he ranks pretty highly in the NFC maybe #1. But like i said there are guys that have been in longer who have proven to coach very well. You said top 3 in the NFL and I don't see that. Add in AFC and things get a bit competitive. He's done well so far but he needs to be able to turn out some consistency before he can be considered cream of the crop. Once he has more years behind you can start putting him as elite.

Brees and Payton are debateable. They've done enough to get started. But they need more time in the NFL and prove that they contend every year.

You seem a little cocky. You need to remember just because your team won the SB doesn't make you any smarter. Brag about the SB all you want, you deserve it. But you can't make 2+2=5.

Saying Brees is the best over the past three years is ok with me....It would be splitting hairs to argue over that.

However, Bush is a pretty much a bust. I'm not saying that out of Saints hatred, since I don't hate them at all, but it's simply a fact. No way in hell they would pick him if given a second chance.

And it took them 4 decades to win the big one, where Bucs did better in less than 3 decades. Yeah, big whoop.

You can't blame Payton for what happened in NO before he got there.

I actually feel the ring is pretty important. He played better this year even though he wasn't as productive. Who cares that he got 5000 yards they were 8-8. This year he was more efficient and they were much better as a team. As much as the saints pass he deserves credit for the ring.

Yeah, but knighty seem to be implying that Brees is the best or #1 'cause he has a ring. He would be singing a different tune if Colts won instead. He even think Bush is the best like draft pick said when that is far from the truth based on his stats, records, etc. I'm trying to remind him you can be the best & still never get a ring in your life.

I predicted that some Saints fan would come out of nowhere and claim to have made this prediction... or did I? That's the funny thing about the making bold claims over the Internet...

I'm going to say the Panthers are winning the Superbowl next year... if I'm wrong at least I won't have to worry about your temporary profile coming back to haunt me... no no no if the Panthers don't win the Superbowl next year, I'm going to be crossing my fingers that we didn't trade away that year's first round pick.

The op is the legendary wdk/blackandgold. He showed up repeatedly in 2008 with too many different usernames to count and posted big sweeping predictions that always included the panthers losing and the saints winning. If I can find it, I will link the failed predictions thread I put together with his quotes in honor of his legendary trolling stupidity.

Please find the post you are referring to. I am sure you will somehow not be able to find it because it will vindicate everything that I said. Win a Super Bowl and then pop off.
