This thread needed to be said. Some of these recent threads are just pathetic.

Man up, realize that the Saints were the better team and deserved to win, and look forward to next season.

They weren't the better team they just got the most breaks and luck. I wish some of that would come our way. Maybe once we can be healthy and not missing all of our RB in a NFCC game. OR our QB doesn't turn into Neil Odonnel before a Playoff game. Or our Kicker finds a way of not kicking the ball outbounds. One time football gods that would be nice.

If we didn't have a retared QB and a Retared HC who keeps him in we could have stop this poo from happining. Now we have a whole offseason off Katrina and SI Saint superbowl videos. Yay!!!!!

So far it's definitely the second option.

Jesus Christ get a grip people.

The Saints dont deserve to win, and YOU KNOW THIS.

Panthers are the only team that deserves to win, everything else is rigged.

YOU CANT TRUST THE SYSTEM DARN IT!!!!!

*Throws the season on the ground*

I dont know... I am not much of a Saint hater for some reason. If the Bucs or Falcons were playing then screw em; but I never had the "hate" for the Saints.

I was actually pulling for them to win. Now that being said I wanted the Colts to tie it up to make the game even better.

Plus just think - now the Panthers dont have to worry about the Saints being good next year due to the Superbowl hangover

No never, we deserved to win and you know it. The Panthers are the greatest team ever to be assembled it. YOU JUST CANT TRUST THE SYSTEM!

You say that joking I honestly feel this way. If we can't have why should they? Call me a punk a baby (not in my face ofcourse that wouldn't be good for you) but I'm like that for my panthers. Sue me.:dita:

Does it really matter? this is what the discussion boards are for, for people to talk and if somebody is upset that there team has not won a superbowl that makes a fan to me.

The discussion isn't about how much it sucks that we don't have a Super Bowl trophy, it's about how the Saints don't deserve theirs. Or about how the game was rigged. Or how the whole of professional sports are now a sham because the Saints have a Super Bowl ring.

It's jealousy, not regret.

Panthers are the youngest team in the NFC South, correct? We should have won the Super Bowl just cause were younger and sexier than the rest of these 40 year and 30 year old men. THIS IS AMERICA, we want to see the sexy more skin of that Carolina blue and black. The hood ain't checking for no gold, red, or brown. Shoot, Panthers should be america's new team, we don't need detox like the rest of those phonies to preserve our Sexy.

Now i will agree with all the rigged stuff but you can't get mad at people for hating the fact that people love the saints because of Katrina. Now they are a americas team and how great the story is poo.

In my mind this is no diffrent then the cowboys winning it I hated then and I hate that the saints have won it now.

I hate the fact that now the saints have a tactical Nuke in every smack talking contest. "We have lombardi what do you have?" How many times you think you will hear that poo when they come up here for their beating. Before and after the game. Call it jealousy or what ever but i love too have that in my Arsenal against a rival. No matter how many times we crush the Bucs they can dangle that little nugget over our hands. Yesterday repersents another team we have too see twice be able too do that.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
