Will our secondary hold up in the playoffs?

The secondary is a huge liability. Watch the saints game again. Sure Brees is a good QB but our secondary was just humiliated.

Humiliated just like Atlanta, Chicago, GreenBay, Tampa, Minnesota, San Diego, Denver, etc... Greenbay supposedly has the best corners in the league, and they got shredded for 51 points and 323 yards.

Our secondary allowed New Orleans fewer points and fewer yards for the year than either of the other two NFC South teams. When NO played atlanta in N.O., Brees got 422 yards.

Most of our fans seem obsessed with the pass defense, but imo its still better than our run defense. We finished the year 16th in pass defense. While thats not good, its better than our run defense ranking. And considering that we will likely be facing teams that run the ball in the playoffs, run d is a much bigger concern. New York, Atlanta, and Minnesota are all top 5 in the NFL run offenses.

yeah forget the secondary... look at the RB's in the NFC playoff. jacobs, westbrook, peterson and turner... everyone besides arizona has a top caliber back.

Lets hope kemo is back because stopping the run is gonna be the challenge.

Good point. I remember all too well Turner tearing us up and I have to presume Atlanta will be moving on so we may be seeing them again.

You know, it seems like an awful lot of Panther fans are forgetting how daunting our December schedule looked to us before it got here. How many people actually thought that the Panthers would go 3-1 during the toughest part of the schedule, much less do it without both of our starting DT's, which were perceived to be weak to start the season in the first place?

I am very happy with 4-2 over our last 6 games. I didn't think we would win at Atlanta, and the NY game was iffy depending on how much the Giants had to play for.

Agreed. I don't feel our pass rush has been up to norm this year and it has put a lot of pressure on the secondary. Here is to hoping that is fixed come the divisional round in a week or so.

Our Pass rush is above avg if we know we can stop the run. The last two weeks in the season our DTs got NO push what so ever on pass or run plays.
