The running game is no longer effective

Dink and dunk passing, which is the most boring style of offense, is now the name of the game.

Boring? I think boring is get a 7 point lead and run the ball the rest of the game(even on third and long) and let your defense try to hold them.

I'm sure glad we don't do that! lol

Q: What finally made the Saints a legit SB contender?

A: They found a running game.

The defense helped, but it was the running game that completed them. The truth is, you need a good defense, good passing attack and good rushing attack to be a consistent contender. You put Brees, Manning or Brady on the Panthers and we are world beaters - nobody could touch us.

The good news, is that we have two elite RB's so we don't need an elite QB to win it all - we really just need a solid game manager who can make a few key plays and limit mistakes. We may have found that guy in Matt Moore. Look what we did to the Vikings and Giants. Right now, teams have to respect our ability to run the ball so much that they are wide open to the passing game. If Moore can do just enough to punish opponents for making that choice, then they will have to back off and we'll run it down their throat. If given a choice, I would much rather have an elite running game to lean on than an elite passing game because there are fewer "moving parts" and therefore, fewer things that can go wrong in the running game vs. the passing game.

The end of this past season proved we are a decent QB away from being very dangerous.

Well, when the defense doesn't protect against the pass, why run?

Brees had a 82% completion rating. That's unhuman for a regular season game... but for the Super Bowl? Cmon man...

This SB was probably the worst I've ever seen.

HAHAH that is funny. Experts are saying it was one of the most entertaining, well played and exciting game in memory. Not to mention over 100 million people watched it!

Saints aren't America's team. They are the team of the Universe!

Well I'm not an expert because ESPN doesn't pay me for my opinion but I'd say last year and the year before were the best football games I'd ever seen.

Well said. Eli Manning isn't the best QB there is, but his team won the game along with him. Having a great RBs along with WRs & solid defense can help you win any games, even if your QB is not in the NFL Top 10 QBs.

Do you wipe your a$$ with toilet paper that the "experts" say is the best? Or do you use stuff you like?

If I say this game was a boring as hell to the point that it seemed like I was watching a pre-season game, then that's my take on it. I don't give a flying-f what the "experts" say. (BTW... the "experts" had your 'aints losing)

As far as the # of viewers... there two factors there: 1.Little thing called "population growth". 2. People watched because there's not a whole hell of a lot more to do on a cold Sunday night.

Team of the universe? That makes me laugh... then sigh...

I laugh because there are 11 teams that have more Super Bowl wins than NO. I sigh because I knew if the 'aints won, all the classless morons that comprise the majority of their fan base would be full of this kind of trollish hot air for years.:dita:

Team of the universe, my ass. 49ers & Steelers are more like that than your team. That the problem with most crazy, blind Saints fan. They run their mouth & can be full of it. Now you know why many dislike you fans: they can't stand of dumb fans who think too much for their own good.

The Katrina redemption and "oh mah gawd saints have such good fanzzz" storylines are what made this Super Bowl "memorable" to morons in the national media and the easily impressionable. Hackneyed melodramatic bullshit aside, from a pure football standpoint, the actual quality of the game was pretty bad. XLIV doesn't have poo on XLII/XLIII.
