It’s beyond time to bench Bryce.

I'm nearing a breaking point.

For a new QB, I can be sold that it could take some time.  You may only see flashes here and there, but it is not happening at any moment.  You can count with your own 2 hands, after 11.5 games, how many passes of his 366 throws this season have been even mildly highlight-worthy.

And add on that this is the prospect that we traded the barn for?  That's what gets me.  I would be upset if this was even a 2nd or high 3rd.  It is beyond concerning.  Beyond.

Physical constraints up the wazoo and nothing to show for.  All of these other crap teams with rookies are giving their dudes just as little time in the pocket. They really are. This is not some death gap we have.

The Titans in particular have had a really big issue with the OL, an older Hopkins the only option, problems all over.   Heck, the Raiders OL has been pretty bad with an iffy running game and O'Connell has been pushing downfield really well.  The only rookie QB who has looked worse is Clayton Tune.

Yes, the team is poorly built, but you have to be able to see SOMETHING.  Anything.  There is just nothing to show for from the #1 overall draft pick we traded way too much for.

It's becoming such a bad situation.

He needs to keep playing. See how he does the rest of the way with a coach who actually moves on the sidelines and shows some interest in the game. I am no Bryce supporter but I certainly wouldnt write him off just yet either. He needs to be playing to see if he shows any signs of improvement at all from beginning to end of season

I certainly wouldn't be crushed if the team made the decision to bring in another QB in 2024. That said, it's not all on Bryce.

The announcers have pointed out several times that the receivers are not getting separation and too many routes simply have them running 10 yards down field and turning around. The big play to Mingo on the 3rd down TD drive was one of the few routes that showed some imagination.

We need a new passing philosophy and better route concepts.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
