Possible GMs IF Scott is Fired.

There is a lot of unknowns going into this offseason. Mike Kaye brought it up on Kyle Bailey’s show that even though this job isn’t appealing at the moment, it might not be appealing to a first time GM but a retread might see it as a good possibility.

Two names he brought up were Dave Caldwell (Former Jags now with the Eagles) and Tom Dimitroff (former falcons GM now running a private firm for nfl scouting)

I know Adam Peters is the golden calf but I’m of the belief he’s in San Fran till he retires.

I figured why not throw around some names.

Scott isn’t safe…where there is smoke there is fire and no one has seen Scott or heard from him…he wasn’t at the press conference.

Cmon now, nobody on here is knowledgable enough of up and coming front office members of other teams to be able to speak intelligently on this topic.

Closest we could get to it is saying we'd love to steal someone from a team like the Eagles who constantly make great personnel decisions.

Interesting on Thomas Dimitroff. He had some success in Atlanta. Sumersports is the company he started, it’s an analytics based scouting firm so that may catch Tepper’s eye. He also has connections to NE, hence Belichick.

Personally, I still think Tepper is going to go after a HC/GM type and potentially keep Morgan and Samir to support that.

However, two guys I would watch other than Peters (who will have his fair share of options) are:

Andy Weidl, Asst GM- PIT

Mike Borgonzi, Asst GM- KC

I’ll wait on Mr. Scot’s post on this.

Peters is the only one I would be thrilled about at this point. He wouldn't take the job unless the entire internal system was changed up to something functional. He has seen where this club has to go if it really wants to turn around.

I just don't know enough about who is really who anymore. Some of the floated names are big old eye rolls like some of the HC prospects. I get that it could happen but some really shouldn't in this specific case.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
