I don't think his withdrawal had anything to do with us.

That said, it's pretty hard to debate that we look a lot worse this year than we did last year.

Frank Smith is a growing myth around these parts.  He has had kind of a meandering career until McDaniel poached him.  Very young into his OC career and isn't even a full-on OC.

I will only be engaged again when the house is completely clean. That means we go through the proper process of hiring a GM and then letting them hire the coach. 
 

until then, I don’t trust the leadership over there to get anything right from trades, to FA, to coach hirings, to contracts.

Yes we do.  He came right out and said why.  FWIW he withdrew from ALL HC opportunities.  He was in for a number of them and likely would have gotten at least one offer.

I was thinking earlier today that he's certainly not a guarantee to be good, much less great. If we were to land him, I wouldn't exactly be doing cartwheels. He'd be a wait-and-see proposition.
